I pray these lines find all going well. We are very excited for this coming weekend as many of our youth are making their First Holy Communion. It is is a wonderful time for them as well as for our Parish! Being in the front lines I can tell you that they have been eagerly awaiting this reception of Holy Communion, whenever they come up for their blessing they usually look into the ciborium to see what they will soon be receiving! Well children, the wait is over and we are so glad you are receiving Communion and the beauty is you will be receiving it from now on every week for the rest of your lives. When you get as old as I am you forget many things one thing I know without a doubt is that every weekend I receive Communion whether it was Saturday night or Sunday morning, my parents made sure I never missed I know your parents will do the same for you! Jesus once again speaks about His love for us and how if we keep His commandments life goes so much smother. He wants a close relationship with each of us, I pray we share His sentiments as well! Have a great week! Love, Fr. Mike Ordination to the Priesthood Please join us in the Church today to watch Bishop Parkes Consecration of the Diocese Of St. Petersburg to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We will be streaming it live at 3pm. All are welcome to attend. Bishop Gregory Parkes will ordain Deacons Kyle Bell, Louis Turcotte and Timothy Williford to the priesthood on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, St. Petersburg. All are invited to attend the ordination and reception immediately following in the Parish Center. Lost and Found Thank you to those that have stopped by the office. We were able to reunite parishioners with lost items but there are still many more items. We do have some prayer books and a Bible still with no home. If you are missing something please stop by the next week, especially for those keys or glasses. On May 14th we will be clearing out the Lost and Found. Thank you so much and we hope to reconnect you with your lost items. Save the Date for the Family Faith Fest on October 27, 2018 Mark your calendar now to join Bishop Gregory Parkes for the Family Faith Fest at Al Lopez Park in Tampa on October 27, 2018. Mrs. Lorraine Parsons May 12 and 13, 2018 All proceeds go to the Youth Group GSP (Good Samaritan Project) online registration is now closed for the Bishop McLaughlin week. We have 12 youth going this year (double from last year). I must say that this program created by our diocese is getting better and more popular every year (this is the 6th year). It has gotten so big now that there is a second week of this project just to accommodate more youth who want to participate ( this will be in St Pete area). The first year (2012), GSP started with 50 youth and we were in Tampa at the Mary Help of Christians for 2 years in a row. Since the number grew, we moved to Bishop McLaughlin which has a bigger facility. We hope that through this summer program we can lead the teens closer to Jesus and have them experience how to serve the community and have the opportunity to meet other youth from different parishes as well. To those who have not registered yet but still want to participate, please contact me and I will put you down on a waiting list. The date for week 1 is June 2430 (Bishop McLaughlin) and week 2 is July 8-14 (St Petersburg). 2017 Good Samaritan
