Page Three St. Charles Borromeo Church October 29, 2017 November, 2017 Dear Parishioners and Friends, The month of November is traditionally a time when we think of THANKSGIVING. Our gatherings with family and friends mean so much to us, and they also renew and strengthen the bonds of love we have with one another. The change of seasons with shorter days and longer nights are nature s way of reminding us of the cycle of life and the passing of time. During this time of year, Our Church liturgically reminds us of the very same things. The Feasts of All Saints and All Souls remind us of those who have gone before us. Our family gatherings (as time goes on) also remind us that there are members of our family, and so many of our friends, who we send off to the Lord each year. We miss them greatly, but we are consoled as we welcome new life into our families and among our friends. The Saints in Heaven, from among our families and friends, reach out to us and pray for us. We, in turn, pray for those we love who have gone on before us. ALL SAINTS DAY and ALL SOULS DAY are a gift of the Church to the baptized. We are part of a reality beyond our immediate understanding. Jesus has promised us a life beyond our life here on earth. Each year we publish the names of those who died from our parish during the last year. We notice that someone who was very important in your life is among those we remember in our novena of Masses and during the month of November. If you care for remembrance cards, please stop by the Church or call the Rectory. We will happily send them to you. Our Choir has prepared a special SUNG MASS in remembrance of our deceased family and friends. They will sing that Mass on ALL SOULS DAY, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2017 AT 7:00 P.M. In a special way we will remember the members of our parish and your family member who died this past year. May the Souls of the Faithfully Departed Rest in Peace...AMEN! Sincerely, from the bereavement team at St. Charles Borromeo. Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Gallagher Pastor
