August 2, 2015 The Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time One does not live on bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God. WELCOME TO ST. ANTHONY PARISH When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. And when they found him across the sea they said to him, Rabbi, when did you get here? Jesus answered them and said, Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal. So they said to him, What can we do to accomplish the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent. So they said to him, What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you? What can you do? Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat. So Jesus said to them, Amen, amen, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. So they said to him, Sir, give us this bread always. Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst. - John 6:24-35 217 Tremont Street Missoula MT 59801 (406) 543-3129 Email: office@stacp.org www.stacp.org www.facebook.com/ SaintAnthonyCatholicParishMissoula Office Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. WEEKEND LITURGIES SATURDAY 5:00 P.M. ST. ANTHONY PARISH 1921-2015 August 2, 2015 Are You Called to Be a Catechist? This weekend, we are beginning our call for catechists to serve in our faith formation program. We need volunteer teachers and helpers who are enthusiastic about sharing the faith with our children and youth. Would you consider this call? Catechesis is one of the essential ministries of our Church. It builds a foundation of faith in our youth. This year, parents will be asked once a month to join in a class with their children. This will better enable families to share their faith. Please call the parish office if you would like to help or have questions. Thank you. Thank you! Mass Celebrated on August 14 The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is August 15 which falls on Saturday this year, so a Mass will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 14, the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please join us to celebrate in the fulfillment of God s promise in Mary, as we turn to her to guide us to the side of her risen Son who reigns in heaven. Question for Sunday, August 2 Each week the bulletin poses a question for discussion or reflection with your family and friends. This week s question: How much of our daily prayers are focused on obtaining food that perishes? How can we change our prayers so that it focuses on food that endures for eternal life?
