September 27, 2015 I VE BEEN THINKING We Are All One Body This Year s Catholic Ministries Appeal Each year we have the opportunity to support all the great works for our Diocese through the Catholic Ministries Appeal. This year s theme We Are All One Body is an especially beautiful one. From Pope Francis to Bishop Matano, to every parish, and every ministry that happens, we are one in Christ Jesus. Either directly or indirectly, all of the following ministries in our Diocese benefit from the Appeal: Catholic Charities, Hospital Chaplaincy, Campus Ministry, Catholic Schools, Diocesan Internet, Pastoral Planning, Building Services, Faith Formation, Financial Services, Tribunal, Bishop s Office and the salaries of our Pastoral Center workers, Vocations all benefit from our generosity. A great joy is when parishioners support the appeal. For the past two years we have reached our goal! A sadness is when a parishioner says I ll let others meet the goal. I m not going to give. If we are indeed One in Christ then everyone should be doing his or her part! Our goal for this year s Appeal is $61,315 ($75 less than last year). Only you can help us reach it! All the faithful are invited to this special celebration of respect for all human life as the annual White Mass for medical professionals is combined with a Diocesan Liturgy in honor of Respect Life Sunday, followed by a reception. HOSPITAL CALLS When you are hospitalized, it is the great desire of our priest and pastoral staff to visit with you when you are in any of our local hospitals. Be aware that due to privacy laws, we cannot access information about your hospitalization unless you indicate St. Theodore s as your faith community on your admissions forms. Better yet, have a family member call the parish office at 429-6811 with the dates of your hospitalization, which hospital you are at and a room number. WEDDINGS AT ST. THEODORE S Couples who are contemplating marriage are asked to please contact Deacon Angelo as soon as possible to reserve the church before you sign a contract with a reception hall. If you do online bill paying with your bank, add St. Theodore s Church as a payee. Use your envelope number as your account number and let them know how often to initiate a check. The bank will then send the check right to St. Theodore s and we will enter the contributions in our computer just as if you put your envelope in the collection basket. If you have any questions, please call Leigh Ann in the parish office. If you make your contributions in cash, please make sure to use your envelopes (or any envelope with your name and envelope number on it) so that we can track your contributions for you. In the past we have had some parishioners audited by the IRS and unfortunately they did not use envelopes and we were unable to give them a listing of their contributions.

The needy in our community cannot forget that they are hungry, so let s not forget to bring something to share each weekend. NEEDED ITEM OF THE WEEK Canned Kidney Beans A WAY TO HELP THE FOOD CUPBOARD Some parishioners say they can t always shop for our needed item of the week or they just forgot. You can make a monetary contribution at any time. Just look for our Donation Box in the back of Church. Knights of Columbus Council 178 is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast to benefit St. Theodore s Parish Come and enjoy pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee in the Parish Hall. Sunday, October 11 9:30am to 12:30pm No reservations needed. Only $5.00 per person Children 2 and under free VINTAGE MURDER On Saturday. October 3, the Special Events Committee will present the Murder Mystery Dinner Event, Vintage Murder. It is a Who done it kind of event a night of fun, dinner, and murder, which will offer hilarious entertainment. The night will include a sit down pasta & meatball dinner, including salad, rolls and butter, dessert and coffee. Dinner and entertainment, all for just $10 each, if you purchase your tickets by September 27 th. After that, they will be $12 each. Tickets will be on sale after all masses the weekend of September 19 & 20 and September 26 & 27 and in the Parish Office starting September 21 until September 30.
