Divine Worship 8:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. VOLUNTARY: Chorale Prelude on Abide with Me WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS CHORAL INTROIT: Breathe on Me, Breath of God (Ezekiel 36:25-27, ESV) C. Hubert H Parry Breathe on me, Breath of God, fill me with life anew, That I may love what thou dost love, and do what thou wouldst do. Breathe on me, Breath of God, until my heart is pure, Until my will is one with thine, to do and to endure. Breathe on me, Breath of God, till I am wholly thine, Until this earthly part of me glows with thy fire divine. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. + THE APOSTLES CREED I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven; and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. + GLORIA PATRI Henry Greatorex Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS 11:15 a.m. ARMENIA + HYMN 11:15 a.m.: Saints of Zion WYATT Trinity Hymnal, opposite no. 1 CONFESSION OF SIN Dr. Thomas Minister and Congregation Father of mercies, hear me for Jesus sake. I am sinful even in my closest walk with thee; It is of thy mercy that I died not long ago; Thy grace has given me faith in the cross By which thou hast reconciled thyself to me And me to thee, Drawing me by thy great love, Reckoning me as innocent in Christ though guilty in myself. Strengthen me against temptations. My heart is an unexhausted fountain of sin, A river of corruption since childhood days, Flowing on in every pattern of behavior. Thou alone canst hold back my evil ways, But without thy grace to sustain me I fall. Keep me sensible of my weakness And of my dependence upon thy strength. Amen. Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies Christ, whose glory fills the skies, Christ, the true, the only Light, Sun of Righteousness, arise, Triumph o er the shades of night; Dayspring from on high, be near; Daystar, in my heart appear. Dark and cheerless is the morn Unaccompanied by thee; Joyless is the day s return Till thy mercy s beams I see; Till they inward light impart, Glad my eyes, and warm my heart. Visit, then, this soul of mine; Pierce the gloom of sin and grief; Fill me, radiancy divine; Scatter all my unbelief; More and more thyself display, Shining to the perfect day.

8:30 A.M. Jesus Paid it All Lord, now indeed I find your power, And yours alone, Can change the leper s spots, And melt the heart of stone. Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. For nothing good have I whereby Your grace to claim I ll wash my garments white In the blood of Calv ry s Lamb. Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

11:15 A.M. Saints of Zion From Abel s favored off ring To Jesus holy cross, The church of God s own choosing Has triumphed over loss. Refrain: Then come, O saints of Zion in sweet communion wed; The bride awaits her glory: Lord Jesus Christ her head. By faith our fathers labored; In faith they lived and died. From Abraham to David, Faith stood when it was tried. Refrain. This covenant of grace divine, By Christ s own blood was bought. The promises of blessing Shall never come to nought. Refrain. By martyr s death the holy seed Was sown in grief and pain, That holy seed will flourish Till Christ shall come again. Refrain. The church of God triumphant Shall in that final day Have all her sons and daughters Home from the well fought fray. Refrain.

8:30 A.M. My Faith Looks Up to Thee My faith looks up to thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine: Now hear me while I pray, Take all my guilt away, O let me from this day be wholly thine. May thy rich grace impart Strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire; As thou hast died for me, O may my love to thee Pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire. While life s dark maze I tread, And griefs around me spread, be thou my guide; Bid darkness turn today, Wipe sorrow s tears away, Nor let me ever stray from thee aside. When ends life's transient dream, When death s cold, sullen stream shall o er me roll, Blest Savior, then, in love, Fear and distrust remove; O bear me safe above, a ransomed soul.

John 3:1-21 Now there was a man of the Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him. 3 Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus said to him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again. 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus said to him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered him, Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.12 If I

have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.

And Can It Be That I Should Gain And can it be that I should gain An int rest in the Savior s blood? Died he for me, who caused his pain? For me, who him to death pursued? Tis myst ry all! Th Immortal dies: Who can explore his strange design? In vain the firstborn seraph tries to sound The depths of love divine. Tis mercy all! Let earth adore, Let angel minds inquire no more. He left his Father s throne above (So free, so infinite his grace!), Humbled himself (so great his love!), And bled for all his chosen race. Tis mercy all! Immense and free; For, O my God, it found out me. (over)

And Can It Be That I Should Gain Long my imprisoned spirit lay Fast bound in sin and nature s night; Thine eye diffused a quick ning ray; I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth, and followed thee. No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in him is mine! Alive in him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine, Bold I approach th eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ, my own.

Benediction May the grace of Christ our Savior And the Father s boundless love, With the Holy Spirit s favor, Rest upon us from above.
