PRO-LIFE TREE We would like to have a pro-life tree which will be placed next to the baptismal font. It will be decorated with the pictures of a new born/baptized babies. if you have some pictures of your babies and would like to have them displayed on that tree please call the parish office (570) 779-5323. The Eucharistic Adoration schedule has been changed. Adoration will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There are not enough volunteers during the winter months to keep the regular schedule. Anyone is welcome during these hours. If you are able to schedule a time, please call Joan Kaye at 570-779- 2998. CATECHISM STUDY GROUP The Catholic Catechism study group will meet on Wednesday, January 4 th, at 7PM. in the rectory. We will reflect on Faith as a response to God s love. CAN YOU HELP? Thank you. BAPTISM Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian Life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other Sacraments. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213) The Baptism Committee is in need of Baptism Coordinators to instruct a class and assist the family during the Baptism Sacramental process. Each coordinator is scheduled for a specific month. If you are interested in learning more or serving in this gratifying ministry please contact Audrey Kocher (570-779-4850) or the parish office (570-779-5323). Bambera, D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of Scranton, and the Office for Parish Life wish to invite couples celebrating their 25 th or 50 th wedding anniversary in 2017 to a diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, June 11 th. The event includes a 2:30 pm mass at St. Peter s Cathedral followed by a reception. Requests for an invitation, with a mailing address, should be made through the parish office before March 13 th. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: Adult preparation for the Sacrament of Initiation. If you know of anyone who might be interested in inquiring about the Catholic Faith, call the parish office or Maureen Dillon at (570) 779-9874. Classes are generally held on Sunday mornings after the 8:30 AM Mass. Baptism of Infants: Parents requesting Baptism for their children should make an appointment with the Pastor to begin the process. The months of preparation before the birth of a child are the appropriate time to plan for the Sacrament. Catholic Marriage: Diocesan Policy states that those considering celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage must meet with the pastor at least six months before any desired wedding date. Please call the office to schedule an appointment with the Pastor. Communion for the Homebound: We invite homebound parishioners who wish to receive Holy Communion to call the office. Hospital Visitation: Please notify the Parish Office if you or a loved one is hospitalized as the hospital no longer notifies the parish. If a patient would like to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation or Anointing of the Sick or if he or she would just like a visit, please call the office to make arrangements. Prayer for Life Father and maker of all, you adorn all creation with splendor and beauty, and fashion human lives in your image and likeness. Awaken in every heart reverence for the work of your hands, and renew among your people a readiness to nurture and sustain your precious gift of life.
