Sunday 18th December 9.30am: The Bishop of Bedford will be taking the service at 9.30 at Wymington church, and 11.00 at Podington church An invitation from Leavesden - Leavesden tree festival - between December 13-17th we are holding a Christmas Tree Festival on the theme of 'Living God's Love' which we have planned as a community project in the Leavesden / Garston / Watford area with the express purpose of providing a platform for local schools, churches of all denominations, community organisations, local businesses and families to come together and by sponsoring and decorating a real Christmas tree, clearly show to festival visitors the way in which they carry out Gods work in our community. With over 30 decorated real Christmas Trees celebrating the true meaning of Christmas, in such a beautiful Church setting as All Saints Leavesden, we are hoping that this initiative will bring all the local community organisations into an even closer working relationship especially with so many new and extensive housing developments springing up within our parish boundary or very close by. We would be delighted if our friends from All Saints' Turvey might be able to find time to visit us during the festival, even though we are only too aware that it is a long journey for you from the very north of the diocese. With Very Best Wishes, Peter Dawson. (Church Warden). If you would like more details please contact Sharon Tew or see the This Week notice board in Church. ADVENT STUDY GROUP An Ecumenical Study Group is being held in Turvey Abbey for Advent. Starting on Monday 28 th November at 2pm.We will be prayerfully studying the Gospel for the following Sunday. Flower Arranging Rota 2017 The rota will be on the boards in the porch as soon as possible in the New Year, once I know when all the weddings are! Please sign up if we all do a little it is not too onerous. If you have never arranged at All Saints before and would like a little support please contact Jacqui Darrington 881566 COFFEE MORNINGS A big thank you to Barton Royal Homes who raised a magnificent 265 towards church funds at the November Coffee Morning! There will be no Coffee Morning in December as hopefully everyone, will be going to the Christmas Bazaar! Our regular coffee mornings start again on 14th January - Details later. If any of you would like to host a coffee morning, please sign the notice on the church notice board or ring Anne Claypole White (881661).

Bike and Hike Many of you may think that the Bike and Hike each year in September is simply walking or cycling around as many of our local churches as you can to raise money for the Beds and Herts Historic Churches Trust and our own Church. Not so! It is an opportunity to visit any church either in our own community, diocese, or anywhere some of our congregation visited a little further afield. Wendy and Chris Knell, unable to visit churches local to Turvey visited those in Winchester on foot instead It rained most of the day but we had a warm welcome in all the churches. People told their stories and listened to ours

Paul Goddard was on the delightful island of Lesbos at the time of the Bike and Hike, so instead he visited churches, chapels and calvaries on foot, in the areas of Anaxos, Petra, Ligonas and Molivos. Some of the churches and chapels were not easy to find, perched high on hills among closely huddled buildings some looked quite ordinary on the outside but spectacular inside

We can only give a tiny flavour of these wonderful visits so please take a look at the photo board in church! Thank you to everyone who sponsored Chris Wendy and Paul. They raised the magnificent sum of 435.00 which will be further increased by the addition of Gift Aid. Half the money raised will go to All Saints Church and the other to Beds and Herts Historic churches Trust which offers grants for church repair projects.

BeCHaR Please remember the homeless this Christmas - and the great work that BeCHaR does to support them particularly at this time. Please give any food or clothing donations to Heather Whelbourn or leave in church labelled for Heather. Important Information If you require a pastoral visit from your Clergy, or know anyone who is ill in hospital or at home who does please contact either Jacqueline or Peter on 01234 720961, email: chellingtonteam@gmail.com or call in at Church house, 3 the Moor, Carlton.
