OCTOBER 1ST, 2017 October: The Month of the Rosary and prayer for Life We as Catholics honor the gift of life, from conception to natural death. Abortion, assisted suicide, and other programs are sometimes called compassionate. For example: I am against abortion, but my daughter is pregnant and in college. I don t want to ruin her career plans, so I am being compassionate to her by taking her for an abortion. Or Someone is so sick that they are going to die anyway. They should have the choice of ending their life to spare them and their families from pain. We believe that God is the giver of life here on earth. Our walk is not always easy, neither was Jesus path. Because the path we walk is a path of love, love is not always easy. It is learned not only in the good times, but in the tough times, and in the times of suffering, not only for the person suffering, but for those around him or her. We should let God handle it for them and for us, and trust in God s plan and goodness. Collection for Hurricane Relief in Florida and Puerto Rico Baskets are out this weekend for our collection for Hurricane emergency relief in Florida and now also Puerto Rico. Our monies will go to Catholic Charities USA, the Catholic Church s relief organization for inside the United States. If you did not bring a donation with you to church this weekend, you can get it to the rectory by Wednesday of this week and I will send the monies along. Thanks for your generosity!
