Gra-Neva Model A Club Board Meeting Minutes 9/10/18 Meeting called to order at 9:40 am by President, Kay Harms. The meeting was held at Penny s Diner. Treasurer, Jan Elliott, explained the statement of Revenues & Expenses 2016, 2017, and the actual projected expenses for 2018. Sharon Pierce, Editor of the club newsletter, wanted to know where the funds from advertising go. Distribution of money received from individuals or businesses for advertising in the club newsletter was discussed. Because Sharon is responsible for contacting the advertisers etc., she wants a say in how it is distributed. Sharon had indicated to Kay, at an earlier time, her request for the advertising money to be split between the mystery tour and the Christmas holiday dinner. After discussion, Vern made a motion to apply 50% to the 2018 mystery tour and 50% to the Christmas Holiday dinner. Second Steve. Approved. Funds from the monthly club 50/50 raffle drawing go toward the Christmas dinner/party and the mystery tour. Kay brought up the subject of dues for 2019. This item was discussed, a few amounts were brought up, but no decision was made. Item was put on hold. (We returned to it later in the meeting.) 2018 Auction was a resounding success. The board decision is to split the money as follows: 50% to the 2018 mystery tour and 50% to the Christmas holiday dinner. For this year, 2018, if there is any club money left in the mystery tour fund after the tour is completed, the board will meet before the end of the year to decided where the remaining funds should go (general fund, 2019 mystery tour, or??). Also it was mentioned the Club needs to have a policy for memorials when a member and/or spouse passes away. It was voted on and passed that the President will have the authority to decide on a memorial up to $50.00. Jan Elliott moved to vote on...sharon Pierce seconded. Discussion about membership dues for 2019 resumed. Board decision-----the 2019 membership dues will be $25.00. They are due before 12/31/2018. 7 A nominating committee to find officers for 2019 should be appointed at the September meeting. In lieu of appointing a committee, Kay asked those board members present if they would continue to serve as officers for the coming year (2019). Jan Elliott would like to be replaced since she and Buzz now have a residence in Nevada as well as Nevada City. Kay will contact Sandi Schilling and ask if she will assume the treasurer position in 2019. The publicity service position is open. Denia Hubbard and Larry have moved to Bakersfield. Bobbi Whiting will be asked to fill this service position for the remainder of 2018 and then again in 2019. All other current officers agreed to continue for 2019 although the current tour chairman is still undecided about continuing in 2019. Those present at the meeting: Kay Harms, president; Steve Turnsk; vice-president; Louise Baerresen, secretary, Jan Elliott, treasurer, Sharon Pierce, editor, and Kristi Turnsk, membership chairperson.
