May 31: MYF Thank You Breakfast at 10:00 a.m. Our MYF Youth will serve a free breakfast to the congregation as a way of thanking you all for your support this school year! We hope to see you following the worship time! Our New Pastor Greetings!! As most of you, if not all, know by now, Pastor Mel is retiring and New Fountain UMC has been appointed a new Pastor. The Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee met with Reverend Bill Henderson (District Superintendent) on Monday, April 20, 2015 for the introductory meeting with our new Pastor. Our new Pastor is Reverend Joyce McCormick and her husband is Chris McCormick. Pastor Joyce has been an ordained minister for eighteen years and is currently serving at the First United Methodist Church in Elgin, Texas. You can get much information on Pastor Joyce by going to https://www.fumcelgin.com. Click on About Us and then on Meet our Pastor. Move in date for our new Pastor is June 25, 2015. I urge everyone available to come by and help or just to say Hello and welcome Pastor Joyce and Chris to our church family and community. Her first Sunday to lead our worship service will be June 28, 2015. Please be in constant prayer for the changes that are coming for everyone involved. Pastor Mel and Maurie are going to experience a big change in retirement and a new life and community. Pastor Joyce and Chris are going to experience a big change of coming to a new church and community (and wondering what WE are all like), and we, as members of New Fountain UMC, are going to face big changes in having a new pastor and husband. Change can be difficult for everyone involved, because it creates unknowns for us. The familiar is being left behind. The best way to handle these changes is by prayer and making up our minds that these changes are good and that we have a bright and spiritually fulfilling future ahead of us. Glenn Muennink, Chair Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee May 25: Memorial Day Prayers for our military, veterans and those who sacrificed their lives for us. Mother s Day - May 10 Happy Mother s Day! Proverbs 28-30: Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

The Fountain May Communion Rail and Coins for Christ Offerings: Nepal Earthquake Relief The General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, through its disaster-relief arm and in conjunction with longtime local and international partners and Nepal-based United Methodist missionaries, is responding to the devastating earthquake that rocked Nepal April 25. All Global Ministries Missionaries Accounted For Casualties and the full extent of the damage caused by the quake, which struck at 11:41 a.m. local time, are still being determined. At least 3,700 people are known to have died and 6,500 were injured, according to news reports, but search and rescue operations continue. Countless people are homeless. All five Global Ministries missionaries serving in Nepal, and their families, have reported that they are safe. Dr. Lester Dormon and his wife Debbie were in the U. S. on missionary itineration. Dr. Mark Zimmerman, his wife Deirdre and their children, and Katherine Parker were all in-country, but unharmed in the event. Mark Zimmerman, who serves with the Nick Simons institute (NSI), which trains and supports skilled rural healthcare workers, wrote in an email that aftershocks have continued, electric power has been cut and few shops are open. All of us in Nepal thank you for your thoughts and prayers over the coming days and weeks, he wrote. Parker reported that she was traveling with a group from UMN in Pokhara, and was away from her home in the capital when the quake struck. Reports from friends back in Kathmandu are that tension levels are high with the 20 plus aftershocks, many of which havae been 5/6+, she wrote in an email. How You Can Help 1. Pray for all who have been impacted by this emergency: for the people of Nepal, for Global Ministries and UMCOR partners at work on the ground there, and for Global Ministries five missionaries and their families assigned to serve there. 2. Give to UMCOR International Disaster Response, Advance #982450. Your gifts to UMCOR make it possible for UMCOR to respond quickly to emergency situations. Stay informed. 3. Visit www.umcor.or g and www.umcmission.or g for updates and developments regarding Global Ministries and UMCOR s response to and accompaniment of survivors. 5/1 Matthew Liska 5/2 Trisha Bryant 5/2 Franklin Muennink 5/4 Mark Wiemers 5/5 Kimberly Jones 5/5 Sandi Schweers 5/7 Alan Toalson 5/9 Shaun Fitzpatrick 5/9 Jennifer Stein 5/10 Eli Liska 5/10 Kathy Bermea 5/10 Sid Fly 5/12 Allyson Bermea 5/16 Daryn Ballantine, Jr. 5/16 Roberta Ruiz 5/16 John Tondre 5/16 Jim Stiles 5/18 Kassandra Cox 5/19 Camryn Rothe 5/20 Averi Ruiz 5/21 Tyler Neuman 5/23 Colvin Smith 5/25 David Wiemers 5/25 Lori Stein 5/25 Eric Carrijo 5/27 Brandyn Riojas Happy Anniversary!!
