Fr. Kumar will be at St. Ann s to celebrate all of the Masses this weekend and next weekend. Please note that there will be no daily masses scheduled for the rest of the month. If there is an emergency during this time, please call the office at 304-592-2733 or 304-203-4429. First Holy Communion for five of our young people will be celebrated on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the 10:00am Mass. The following children will be receiving our Lord for their very first time: Dominic Fazalare, son of Joe & Krysta Fazalare, Preston Klimek, son of Edward & Suzannah Klimek, Peyton Romeo, son of Josh & Chasity Romeo, Dominick Spadafore, son of Joseph & Brandy Spadafore, and Colton Wright, son of TJ & Elizabeth Wright. Practice for First Holy Communion will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 5, 2018. First Confessions will be held at that time as well. Attendance is mandatory in order to receive their First Holy Communion, and parents, Grandparents or Guardians, are asked to please remain for the practice and confessions. The annual May crowning of Mary will be celebrated at the end of the First Holy Communion Mass on May 6 th. Those receiving First Holy Communion will be taking part in the ceremony, so please stay for the service and everyone is welcome to attend the reception for the First Holy Communicants in the Social Hall at the end of our ceremony. Our Annual Spaghetti Dinner at St. Ann s is next Sunday, April 29, 2018. Please plan on coming over to eat. Prices: $10.00 for an adult and $5.00 for a child. This includes, spaghetti, two meatballs, salad, and a dessert. The food is delicious, please come and enjoy. The Easter Lillies are ready to be rehomed. Please feel free to take one or two if you want. They have been placed on a table in the hall. According to The Times-Picayune Garden columnist, you can plant your Easter lily outside in a garden bed once the flowers have faded. Remove the plant from the pot and plant it into a well-prepared bed enriched with compost. Choose a location that receives morning sun and some afternoon shade. When the foliage yellows in midsummer, cut the plant down to the ground. They will begin to grow again in Oct. Fertilize them at that time. They will grow over the winter (don t worry about freezes) and should bloom next year in late April. Shirley Brown, a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help is creating a Harrison County Catholic Moms Group, and all the Moms of our parish are invited to join. The information platform and support community will be through a newly created FB page (private group) named H. C. Catholic Moms Group. The group should be searchable. Please find the group and request membership. This will be an online community and will schedule periodic events and meetups depending on what everyone wants to do. This group will include moms from all local Catholic churches in Harrison County. Your hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament will repair for evils of the world and bring about peace on earth. Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Jesus and ready to make reparation for the great evils of the world. Let your adoration never cease. (Pope John Paul II) There are still seven (7) hours open in the chapel. Please consider taking an hour if you are not already doing so. CURRENT OPEN HOURS THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CHAPEL: Tuesday 2:00pm to 3:00pm Saturday 1:00pm to 2:00pm Thursday 8:00am to 9:00am Saturday 2:00pm to 3:00pm Thursday 9:00am to 10:00am Saturday 4:00pm to 5:00pm Saturday 5:00pm to 6:00pm TO SIGN UP FOR AN HOUR, PLEASE CALL MARY K. AT 304-592-2733 OR 304-203-4429 OR CALL MARY ANN AT 304-669-3504. WE ESPECIALLY NEED HELP ON SATURDAYS RIGHT NOW AS YOU CAN SEE.

On May 27, 2018, Representatives will set up a display of Olive Wood Carvings from the Holy Lands for you to purchase if you wish. Hand carved olive wood is an art that has been practiced for centuries by Christian artisans in the Bethlehem area. All of the carvings are carved from olive wood grown in the Holy Land. The display will be set up for parishioners to see and purchase (if you wish) after all of the Masses on May 26 th, and May 27 th. Please be sure and let the office or Fr. Pat know if you are in the hospital or ill at home and would like for Fr. Pat to come and visit you. Under the current privacy laws, information is not available to us regarding our parishioners who are in the hospital. The only way that Fr. Pat will know is if you call us.
