FUND-RAISING COMMITTEE EVENTS Thursday, July 13 Trip to the Paper Mill Playhouse to see "Pippin." The cost is $60.00, which includes lunch, the show and transportation. CALL THE OFFICE TO RESERVE YOUR PLACE FOR THIS TRIP, 201-333-4229, OR SEND YOUR CHECK TO THE TEMPLE. The deadline for reservations is JUNE 6. No reservations can be accepted after this date, because all unsold tickets must be returned to the theater at that time. If you would like to join us just for lunch at Cafe Main, the cost will be $20.00, and you will have to provide your own transportation. BROTHERHOOD BREAKFAST & RAFFLE On Sunday morning, June 11 at 9:30 a.m. the Brotherhood will hold its annual Breakfast and Raffie. Please call the Temple office (201-333-4229) to make your reservations, and don't forget to buy your raffie tickets for the 50/50 Raffie. Remember the more raffie tickets you buy the bigger the prize. So, sell tickets to your family and friends, as well. Just like "The Big Game," you have to be in it to win it. Raffie tickets are available in the Temple office, and they will be available at the breakfast.. There is no charge for this event, which will include a delicious breakfast, a fascinating presentation by Rabbi Brickman, and of course, the raffie. Call the Temple now to reserve your place! MEMORIAL PLAOUE TO FLORENCE BERMAN The Temple will be placing a special plaque in memory of Florence Berman in the sanctuary. If you would like to make a donation toward this memorial tribute to Florence, please send your check to the Temple office.

MAZELTOV! Congratulations to David Schkrutz who will become a Bar Mitzvah at our Shabbat Morning Service on Saturday morning, June 17. Mazel Tov to David' s parents, Alex and Robin and to his brother Eric. TRIP TO THE LIBERTY SCIENCE CENTER The Fund-Raising Committee is sponsoring a trip to the IMAX Theater at the Liberty Science Center on Thursday, June 22. The film to be shown is entitled, "To the Limit," which follows three athletes through an extreme workout, including rock climbing, skiing downhill at 60 m.p.h., and leaping across a stage with a ballerina. The cost for this trip is $10.00, which includes admission to the film and transportation to and from the Science Center. Lunch will be on your own. The bus will leave from the Temple at 10:15 a.m. and from 10 Huron Avenue at 10:25 a.m.. Reservations can be made by calling the Temple office or sending your check to the office. HEBREW UNION COLLEGE MUSEUM SEEKS DOCENTS The Hebrew Union College in New York City is launching a new museum docent program. They are seeking volunteers who enjoy speaking to groups about art and artists and will be able to enhance the visitors' understanding of their exhibits. This is a wonderful volunteer activity, and HUC, which is located on West 4th Street in the Village, is an easy commute from Jersey City. Docent training will take place during July and August and will include lectures by experts, visits to artists' studios and other sites, as well as educational materials providing background on the museum's exhibitions. For more information call Ruth Friedman at 212-824-2205 or speak to Rabbi Brickman.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING The Temple's annual congregational meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 13,2000 at 8:00 p.m. in the Nickelspom Social Hall. All of the members of the congregation are urged to attend this very important meeting at which the Temple committees review their activities during the past year. We will also elect the officers and trustees, who will lead our congregation for the coming year. Another item of business to be brought before the congregation at this meeting will be a proposal to increase Temple dues, effective July 1,2000. The increase would be $25.00 for a single membership and $50.00 for a couple/family membership. This is an opportunity for every member of the Temple to help shape our future. Refreshments will be served. If you would like to attend, but need a ride, please call Maddie. FAREWELL SERVICE TO CANTOR SCHWARTZ Please join us for a very special service on Friday evening, June 16 at 8:00 p.m. when we will say farewell to Cantor Sergei Schwartz and wish him well in his new Temple, Words cannot describe how deeply Cantor Schwartz has touched the souls of our congregants with his musical talents and the spirit he brings to the music. We are sad to see Cantor Schwartz leave us, but we are thrilled he will be staying in the area, as he becomes the Cantor of Temple Beth Sholom in New City, New York beginning on July 1. We are also sure that we will see Sergei once in awhile, since his wife Lena will be remaining with us as our Temple Educator. We look forward to having our entire congregational family attend this service of tribute to Cantor Schwartz, which will be followed by a special reception in the Cantor's honor.
