St John s Primary hosted the Diocesan carnival and did a fantastic job, congratulations to Mr Adam Foley and Mr Anthony O Leary. Year Five & Six Leadership Day Last week members of the Year Five and Six travelled to Wambangalang Environmental education centre to concentrate on leadership and communication skills. The day was focused towards the classes having a leadership role in the Peer Support program this year. Some of the activities we participated in were orienteering, initiative games and a ropes course. Peer support takes place in term two and is such a beneficial activity for all the leaders and their entire group. The students greatly enjoyed the very full day and I m sure they will do themselves proud as they lead their groups through the program. Greg Cant Library News Scholastic Book Club Issue 2 orders were sent home last week. All orders are due back on Tuesday the 17 th of March. Please make sure you have included the correct amount of money in a well-sealed envelope. Thank you, Bernadette O Shaughnessy (Teacher/Librarian)

The theme for CSW 2015 is 'Educating for Today and Tomorrow'. Catholic Schools Week is a special time in the year when we celebrate and give thanks for Catholic schools, especially our own school St Pius X. It is a time to give thanks for the wonderful teaching and learning that takes place each day in every classroom. In our prayer, we acknowledge and thank all who work together in service Catholic education. Almighty God, You sent the Holy Spirit So that we might know and love you Jesus, the Word made flesh; to know and love Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the Life. Renew the passion of all in Catholic schools to nurture the seeds of your love, planted in our hearts, and bear fruit that will nourish a world hungry for your love. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week in many ways but the most important event will be our liturgy on Tuesday morning at 9.30 am. Please feel welcome to celebrate with us. PROJECT COMPASSION Don t forget our efforts in almsgiving during Lent. COMBINED CATHOLIC SCHOOLS FEES & FAMILY SUPPORT OFFICE Term 1 statements should start arriving in your mailboxes early next week. The exception to this is if you are sharing responsibility for the payment of the fees with an ex-partner, for example, your account is classed as a manual account and will not be posted until later in March. You now have the option to pay by BPAY, along with the various other options available. If you pay by monthly credit card and wish to continue to do so for the 2015 school year, you must complete a new credit card authority. We do not automatically process these payments from year to year. Just another reminder that this time of year is extremely busy for us. This means that sometimes we cannot ring you or email you back straight away. If you ring and can t get through, please leave your name and contact details. Please leave a clear message. Thank you for your patience and cooperation which is very much appreciated. For those parents who are new, the School Fees and Family Support Office is located with St Johns College Administration Building.
