Fr. Bogdan s Corner I want to publicly thank Mr. William Patterson who came to my office to share with me his involvement in Unleashing the Gospel. Mr. Patterson has approached four people and introduced them to the Catholic Faith, church and tradition and talked to them about Unleashing the Gospel. Simply, he sowed the seed. The rest will be done by the Holy Spirit. This is what we all should do. We are approaching the most observed Holiday in the USA Thanksgiving. This special day gives us the opportunity to express gratitude to God and each other for being a part of our lives. I am inviting all parishioners for a special Civil Religious Service that we will be hosting in our church on November 20 th at 7:00 p.m. Several churches from our city accepted my invitation and will be a part of this celebration. Each leader of the congregation will say a Thanksgiving prayer followed by his/her choir, band or soloist. They are working hard to prepare a nice and meaningful prayer for the citizens of Warren. Please join us for this service followed by refreshments. So far, the following congregations expressed their presence: St. Martin de Porres, First United Methodist Church of Warren, IONA Islamic, Midwest Buddhist Meditation, Metro Detroit Family Church and Common Word Alliance. I hope that a few more will join us. I want to congratulate Mrs. Kathy Tocco, a member of our Finance Council, who was elected to be a District Judge for the cities of Fraser and Roseville. Congratulations Your Honor! God Bless, Fr. Bogdan

PAGE 3 Men s Bible Study The Bible is at the heart of our Catholic faith and our relationship with God. Join me in a great adventure of First Corinthians. The conflicts of the early church in Corinth are in many ways similar to our struggles today. Men, won t you join me in this faithenriching experience? Please call Gary Zilli at 586-675-0073 if you are interested in joining the Men s Bible Study. Civil Religious Service Please join us for a Civil Religious Service on Tuesday, November 20 th at 7:00 p.m. in our church. There will be a variety of non-catholic religious denominations involved who will express Thanksgiving to God by their own tradition of prayer and song. Some city officials and possibly the media will be present. It will be an inspiring evening of devotion. All are welcome! Announcing our New Church Website! We are excited to announce the release of our new church website! Here visitors, as well as parish members, will be able to find information about our ministries and our Catholic faith, as well as current and upcoming events at St. Faustina. The website address is https://stfaustinawarren.org. It is designed to provide a beautiful and user-friendly experience on smartphones, tablets, and computer screens. The deadline for the November 25 th issue will be November 14 th by noon. Thanksgiving Prayer Gracious God, On Thanksgiving Day we bow our hearts to You and pray. We give You thanks for all You ve done, especially for the gift of Jesus, Your Son. For beauty in nature, Your glory we see, for joy and health, for friends and family, for Your mercy and care. These are the blessings You graciously share. So today we offer this response of praise with a promise to follow You all of our days.

PAGE 4 THE GIVING TREE Advent will soon be here and we want to encourage everyone to participate in the Giving Tree again this year. It is one way of remembering and living out what Jesus came to show us that we are brothers and sisters and are called to love one another. Each ornament will have the name of a gift that is needed and these gifts will be delivered to the following groups: Families of St. Faustina Church Image of God Crisis Pregnancy Center Detroit Lighthouse Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries Roseville Macomb County Department of Human Services Nativity of Our Lord Detroit St. Dominic Outreach Center Detroit St. Patrick Senior Center Detroit St. Vincent de Paul Detroit Prison Ministry To participate simply follow the following directions: 1. Select an ornament from the tree. 2. Purchase the item. 3. Wrap it with Christmas paper or place it in a Christmas bag. Personal care items do not require wrapping. Just place it in a sturdy box or bag. Cash gifts and gift cards may be dropped off at the office or put in the collection basket. Also, please do not wrap gifts going to Image of God and Nativity of Our Lord. 4. Tie the ornament on the gift SECURELY. 5. Bring the gift back to the church by Sunday, December 9, 2018. 6. Place the gift under the tree. The gifts will be packed up on December 9 th and delivered on December 10 th. The reason why we deliver these gifts so early is because the organizations need enough time to unpack, organize and to distribute them before Christmas. Thank you, The Christian Service Commission Stewardship Thoughts Today s Scripture readings from the Prophet Daniel and St. Mark s Gospel refer to the end times - Christ s glorious second coming. The Letter to the Hebrews describes Jesus s sacrifice once for sins and His seating at the right hand of God, waiting for judgment. At that time, we will be asked to render a final account of our stewardship of God s gifts to us. Those who embraced evangelization of their brothers and sisters, expressed through their Christian stewardship by bringing souls to our Lord, will experience great joy and peace. They will enjoy a great celebration of eternal life with God in the new heaven and new earth. Everyone should be involved in evangelization and Unleashing the Gospel. If you know someone who has left the Church, encourage them to come back. Invite people who do not know Christ to the Church.

PAGE 6 Thank you to all of the students and parents who attended our Parish Mission with Fr. Chris Alar. I hope the mission helped to deepen your faith, and you continue to pray and worship together as a family. According to Archbishop Vigneron, Families are at the very heart of our archdiocesan efforts to Unleash the Gospel because they are the first and most important setting in which evangelization takes place. By welcoming children into the world and raising them faithfully, they bear witness to God s unconditional love. For the members of a Christian family, discipleship is lived out concretely in the rhythms of their day-to-day interaction. Family life is a daily liturgy of prayers, sacrifices, acts of love, service, forbearance, and forgiveness. It is impossible to overestimate the centrality of the family in the passing on of faith from one generation to the next. Religious education students and their families are also invited to attend our Thanksgiving Civil Religious Service for the community of Warren on Tuesday, November 20 th at 7:00 p.m. God Bless, Sandy Acord Growing Faith...Engaging Hearts Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Schedule for the weekend of November 25 th If your name is not on any of the lists, please contact Robert Rossi at (586) 558-7167 Saturday, November 24 th 4:00 p.m. Mass Carole Fleischman Gayle Krapp Louise Krause Mary Lou Krzyminski Joannie Matiyow Sandy Powers Linda Reiterman Sunday, November 25 th 8:30 a.m. Mass Br. Being able to get food and medical care can make it possible for them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. The Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers Program is in need of volunteers who can provide transportation in the local area. We especially need drivers who are available during daytime business hours - mornings and afternoons. If you have just a couple hours a month that you can give to someone in need, you can make a huge difference in the life of a struggling neighbor. You tell us what days, times and areas are convenient for you, and we call you with specific appointments that meet these criteria. If you are free, say yes. If you re not, simply decline and we will call you another time. Please call our office today at (586) 757-5551. Learn more about our work at www.ivcinfo.org.
