Welcome to the Catholic Community of SAINT MARK THE EVANGELIST A Catholic Community of Caring Since 1981 Serving Londonderry, Hudson & Windham - New Hampshire Fr. Mike Zgonc Deacon Tom Lavallee Brandon Sargent Claudia Dominguez Hollis Dunlop Lisa Olsen Allan Fernald Artie Carew Richard Dussault Church and Parish Center (603) 432-8711 One South Road, Londonderry, NH 03053 Pastor Permanent Deacon Director of Evangelization Family Faith Formation Youth Minister Office Manager Music Director Music Director Custodian MASS SCHEDULE Saturday @ 5:00 PM Sunday @ 8:00 AM 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM Monday through Thursday @ 9:00 AM Welcome Home! We, as a Parish Family, are so glad you are here! As sharers of the one baptism & the one Spirit of the Risen Christ, we come together as the Parish Community of St. Mark the Evangelist to proclaim our identity as the People of God. The Eucharist is the center of our life and work together. Through the one bread, we become the one body of Christ, a living sacrifice of praise. In our worship of God, the Author of life and holiness, we proclaim our hope in the life of Christ s Resurrection; we open our hearts and minds to the Spirit of God dwelling in our midst. In our work, together, we seek to enable our children to grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God; to accompany our young sons and daughters on their journeys of discovery toward adulthood; to deepen our faith commitment through prayer & study; to be present to one another in the joys and sufferings, the victories and struggles of life; to give witness to the Gospel of justice and compassion to our hurting world. We welcome to our parish family all who share our Catholic faith & traditions & our search for God in all things. -Parish Mission Statement Facebook: stmarkslondonderry Twitter: @stmarksnh Website: www.stmarksnh.org

From Your Deacon Happy Easter!! For any of my homilies or bulletin columns during the Easter Season I'll always begin with Happy Easter! We live in a world where the hype for our Holidays (read Holy Days) is all build-up to a one day event. And many times, the day of the event, the hype and build-up is gone, because for the secular world it's only about the hype! In our church however, the Holy Day is followed by a Season to celebrate. And Easter is the greatest of these Holy Days because without it, none of the others would matter. Easter is so great, it's the longest of the celebratory Seasons lasting six weeks and culminating with Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit. But even more so, the first eight days of the Easter season are celebrated as Solemnities of the Lord. And those eight days end on this Sunday, the Second Sunday of Easter, also known as Sunday of Divine Mercy. Divine Mercy Sunday is based on Jesus' revelations to Saint Faustina. This feast was granted to the Universal Church by Pope John Paul II on the occasion of the canonization of Sr. Faustina on April 30, 2000. So although the feast has been around for some time, it wasn't celebrated by the Universal Church until 2000. St. Faustina's diary recounts Jesus' words to her regarding this feast: Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (Diary 300) This Feast emerged from the very depths of My mercy, and it is confirmed in the vast depths of my tender mercies. (Diary 420) The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (Diary 699) This feast is unique in that the promise gives us complete pardon, including punishment (Purgatory)! indulgence gives us such a complete pardon to our soul! No other We are also blessed that within a short drive is the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA. (the web site is www.thedivinemercy.org). I was fortunate enough to visit the shrine last year and I encourage you all to look into a visit or a pilgrimage. Pope Saint John Paul II is quoted: "The Message of Divine Mercy has always been near and dear to me which I took with me to the See of Peter and which it in a sense forms the image of this Pontificate." He described Divine Mercy as the answer to the world's problems. I find for myself, the phrase at the bottom of the Divine Mercy image does solve anything I am struggling with "Jesus, I trust in You!" Happy Easter! Deacon Tom

We Are Blessed! We would like to thank all of our young people that participated in the re-enactment of the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday: Stephen & Teresa Bompastore, Anthony Ciarletta, Lena & Owen Cook, Michelle & Jason Dominguez, Dylan Giordano, Katie LaCerda, Amy Maffattone, Daniel & Mary Catherine Neville, Adrian & Michaella Niceforo, Ross, John Paul & Leo Pare, Michaela Short and Ava Windisch. A special note of gratitude to Michelle LaCerda for organizing and directing this St. Mark s tradition! Also, thank you to all that attended and to all of the parents of our participants! It was a very moving experience and they are truly an inspiration to children and adults alike! Thank You for Your Generosity Out of the charitable fund and generosity of the parish, we were able to support Annie Niemaszyk on her mission trip to Ecuador! From Annie Niemaszyk I want to thank you for your very generous donation to the Ecuador spring mission! Your contribution brought immediate effect to the people of Ecuador. Our team was able to make it to ten different villages and we saw hundreds of people in clinics that we set up in the jungle throughout the week. These people hadn t seen a medical professional or been able to celebrate Mass in over 6-8 years! We would not have been able to minister to these people without your generosity! I want to express my gratitude for the support you offered and the impact you made! One of the most incredible parts of the mission was being with priests who were able to bring the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and First Holy Communion to villages that hadn t seen a priest in years. Of all the incredible things I witnessed throughout the mission, that was truly the most amazing grace to witness. Thank you once again for your contribution! - Annie Coming Soon! Pre-Summer Beach Bash for married and engaged couples! Join us in anticipation of summer: Saturday, May 5, from 6:00-10:00 PM in the Parish Center. Registration will start next week. Come welcome the summer with us! Adult Faith Formation AFF is back from Easter Break! Join us this Monday, April 9, at 7:00 PM in the Parish Lounge! We will be continuing on our journey through the Gospel of Mark with our Parish Evangelist, Brandon Sargent. We left off in Chapter 6:14, just before the Death of John the Baptist. If you ve missed any of the previous sessions, no problem - you ll be able to pick it right up and join the conversation! Light refreshments and great fellowship - see you there! Letter from Nashua Children s Home Thank you and your parishioners so much for your generous contribution of a large selection of Easter candy and bunny rabbits to Nashua Children s Home. The efforts of our staff on behalf of the area s neediest children and families are significantly enhanced by the goodwill of our community. Much of the care and guidance provided to the children and families whom we serve would not be possible without the generosity of gifts such as yours. Thank you once again for your support and for your encouragement of the efforts of Nashua Children s Home -David Villiotti This Week @ St. Mark s!! Easter Thank You! This Lenten Season and Triduum were truly a blessed time in our parish community! First of all, a big thank you to Deacon Tom and the RCIA team for all their efforts in the formation of our brothers and sisters who were received into the Church at the Easter Vigil! Thank you to Artie Carew for leading us in meditation during our Monday night Lenten Lamentations! Thank you to Brandon for taking us deeper into the Gospel of Mark this Lenten Season! Also, a special thank you to our Art and Environment Team (Carol Lott, Pam Casey, and Donna Mannarini) for making our Church so beautiful throughout the year, but especially for our Easter Celebration! Last week s Triduum Services and Easter Masses were also extra special none of this would be possible without the hard work of the choir and the countless hours of preparation by Allan Fernald, Artie Carew, and Amanda Morgan!! Thank you the music brought us deeper into the mystery of the Passion and Resurrection!! Thanks also to the Altar Servers who helped with all of the liturgies! We have much to celebrate here at St. Mark s. Thank you to everyone who makes this such a vibrant community of faith in Jesus Christ!! Spring is Here! Want to get your garden on? We are seeking some enthusiastic and interested seasoned and novice gardeners to start a community garden here at St. Mark's within the coming weeks! Any and all parishioners who are interested in getting involved please contact Hollis at the office or at hollis@stmarksnh.org ASAP. Community Outreach Our outreach team will meet on Monday, April 9, at 7:00PM in Room 104 in the Parish Center. We will discuss our upcoming collection of baby items for Our Place in May and other projects for the summer of 2018. New members and ideas are always welcome! High School Night Tonight! Join us in the Parish Lounge tonight, Sunday, April 8, at 6:00PM for food, fellowship and fun! All are welcomebring a friend!! Celebration of Life! Join us next Sunday, April 15, following the 9:30 Mass in the Church Hall as we celebrate the families who have welcomed members into the Church through the waters of Baptism this past year! Growing Catholic families are a living witness to the positive values of family life! Won t you come down and share the joy of welcoming our newest members to our flock?
