INTRODUCTION This programme aims to equip believers to be more effective Christians in the marketplace. It has been specially designed to cover 3 key areas of study: Bible and Theology Practical Christian Living Leadership & Ministry Skills, including FCBC distinctive. Besides classroom lessons, students will also experience actual ministry situations in the contexts of a G12 church as they complete their ministry practicum requirements. There will also be a short Mission Exposure Trip, specially organised to provide students with real-life missionary experience. 1

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION A. For International Students: Please note that all international students are required to hold a Student s Pass for the duration of their study in Singapore. FCBS will assist in the application process. The granting of the pass is subject to Singapore s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority s approval. The application for the Student s Pass with the Immigration Authority will take about 4 to 6 weeks. Please note that applicants are by law NOT ALLOWED to engage in any form of employment or any business or profession during the validity of the Student s Pass. Student is required to bear all cost/fees related to the Student Pass Application. Each student is also responsible for his/her living & transport expenses, medical insurance, housing, programme and other fees. (Total: S$4,500.00 for ACCM). (Financial Assistance up to 100% of the programme fee is available for deserving cases. For FCBC members, please seek advice from your Team Pastor. For International students, please seek advice from your respective country G12 co-ordinator.) 4

B. Admission Requirements A member of FCBC or a G12 cell church, participating actively in a cell group Completed any of the following combinations of courses: o Destiny Training 1 (DT1) and Extreme Discipleship (EXD) o Post Encounter (PE) and Extreme Discipleship (EXD) o SOL1 Foundations (SOL1FN) At least 18 years old at the time of application, i.e. those below 21 years old must have parental consent (completion of Parental Consent Form (Form A1) Proficient in written and oral English, equivalent to GCE O- Level Agreed and endorsed on Condition of Acceptance Form (Form A2) Recommended by Senior/Team Pastor and 2 other referrals C. Application To apply, please submit the following by due date: Completed Application Form (Form A) with passport-size photograph attached. D. Acceptance & Payment You will be notified of the outcome of your application by 6 April 2018 via email. If you do not hear from us by that date, please call church office at +65 64249400. Upon receipt of this acceptance email, full payment must be made by 4 May 2018. Cheques are to be made in full, payable to Faith Community Baptist Church. E. Withdrawal & Refund Any student who wishes to withdraw from the programme after official acceptance into the School must arrange for an appointment with the Dean to present the reasons for withdrawal. DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPTION Module One: 1. Theology of a G12 Cell Group Church To demonstrate from scriptures, the biblical basis for a G12 cell group church. 2. G12 Cell Group Church Distinctive To give an overview of the core values, structures and equipping system in FCBC. 3. God s Heartbeat for Faith Community Baptist Church To provide students the opportunity to understand the heartbeat of our Senior Pastor, Apostle Lawrence Khong, and God s mandate for FCBC. Students will learn directly from and interact with our Senior Pastors on the vision of FCBC, our core values, the G12 Vision, TCS, GE, Love Singapore, marketplace transformation and our other church ministries. 4. Transformation: Glorifying God in the Marketplace To discuss biblical teachings on work ethics and provide principles and practical handles through case studies on common situations where Christian values are tested in the workplace (e.g., integrity, diligence, productivity, excellence, consideration, authority and submission) and on how to resolve these situations. 7

5. Christian Leadership a. To present the biblical principles of effective Christian leadership. b. To help students understand the calling and burden of a Christian leader, and the costs and dangers of leadership. 6. Systematic Theology I To equip students with a working knowledge and understanding of basic theology, by walking through the essentials of the fundamental Bible doctrines: a. Theology Proper b. Christology c. Pneumatology d. Bibliology e. Soteriology 7. Survey of the Bible (Old Testament) a. To show the historical contexts of the books of in the Old Testament (OT) the Bible. b. To show how to read the books in the OT by observing their key literary structures. c. To show the key theological themes of each book of the OT and their practical implications and applications. d. To demonstrate Bible study principles and hermeneutics through the survey of the books of the OT. 8

8. Bible Study Principles & Hermeneutics a. To introduce the OIA process of Bible Study (Observation- Interpretation-Application). b. To introduce 5 types of observation. c. To introduce 10 principles of Bible interpretation. d. To introduce principles of interpreting 3 types of Bible genres: Narrative, Poetry and Epistle. e. To introduce 10 steps to Bible study. 9. Father Heart of God A character development course with the primary thrust: knowing God as our Father is the key to personal wholeness. The process to personal wholeness is finding our security and identity in the fatherhood of God. a. Our Security in terms of God s unconditional love and care/provision b. Our Identity in terms of the worth of our life and the purpose of our life (the Great Commission) 10. Life in the Spirit To review Biblical teachings on living the supernatural life by depending on the Holy Spirit and provide students with practical handles on how to do so: a. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit b. Empowered by the Holy Spirit - in the cell and in the market place To provide principles drawn from testimonies on moving in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. 9

11. Character of a Godly Person In this course, the Beatitudes will be presented as the value-system and the ethical standard of the Kingdom of God, and a description of who the Christian is to be, in character and conduct. 12. Biblical Mandate for Missions a. To show the biblical mandate and strategy for missions. b. To show present and future trends in missions. c. To motivate the students in reaching out to the nations. 13. Personal Effectiveness This course facilitates the development of personal mastery competence. It will enable students to manage their life, ministry and work more effectively. It will focus on self-knowledge and self-mastery, and maintain a balance between work, ministry and personal responsibilities. Areas covered include: a. Identifying personal values, qualities, interests, abilities and aptitudes b. Establishing personal goals and relating them to ministry and career goals c. Managing time effectively d. Maintaining work-life harmony e. Identifying and managing sources of stress f. Managing personal finances 10

14. People Helping Skills I The course provides a biblical foundation on what it means to help a person grow. It also examines the different conditions of a man s heart and how a helper can come alongside to help him. 15. Pastoral Care To provide biblical teaching and practical steps in the following pastoral ministry situations: a. Hospital visitation b. Ministering to the bereaved c. Idol removal d. Home blessing e. Infant dedication This course will also explain FCBC s wedding policies, and highlight situations that should be reported to pastors. 16. Praise and Worship a. To provide biblical teachings on praise and worship. b. To address the life and ministry of the worship leader. c. To present the spiritual principles and practical guidelines for preparation to lead worship, in terms of the worship leader himself and the ministry of leading worship. 11

17. Interpersonal Communication Skills (using D.I.S.C.) a. To help students to understand interpersonal communication skills and communication styles and strategy in relation to the different DISC styles. b. To promote effective communication in the ministry. c. To facilitate effective work teams. d. To develop and implement conflict resolution strategies. (Students will be able to find out their own D.I.S.C. profile.) 12

Module Two: 1. Systematic Theology II To walk through the essentials of other fundamental Bible doctrines: a. Angelology b. Demonology c. Anthropology d. Hamartology e. Ecclesiology f. Eschatology 2. Survey of the Bible (New Testament) a. To show the historical contexts of the books of in the New Testament (NT) the Bible. b. To show how to read the books in the NT by observing their key literary structures. c. To show the key theological themes of each book of the NT and their practical implications and applications. d. To demonstrate Bible study principles and hermeneutics through the survey of the books of the NT. 13

3. Study of Romans or Hebrews or 1 Corinthians a. To introduce the historical background of the epistle. b. To show inductively the central theme and the related key theological ideas. c. To present an outline analysis of the book, paying attention to certain key theological ideas and considering their practical applications and implications. d. To demonstrate the principles of Bible study and hermeneutics through teaching the letter. 4. Drawing the Line: Issues in Christian Living To provide biblical principles and practical handles to students on common problems or controversial situations they face in life. These may include divorce and remarriage, participation in Chinese customs/rituals (funeral and wedding rites), abortion, suicide, euthanasia, to pull off the life support system or not, to lend to those in debt or not, cloning, tattoos, betting & gambling, pubbing & clubbing etc. 5. Christian Disciplines To teach and inculcate in students the biblical disciplines of Prayer, Fasting, Solitude, etc. 6. Roles of a G12 Leader This will equip the students with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a G12 Leader. Three roles, namely the role of a leader, the role of a shepherd and the role of a manager are covered in this course. Specific topics include training visionary leaders, forming dynamic leaders, projecting, planning, strategizing, executing and how to shepherd. 14

7. Mentoring & Coaching a. To present the biblical basis for mentoring in the discipling process. b. To impart the skills and knowledge of mentoring and coaching to new and potential leaders. c. To help students develop an effective mentor-and-protégé relationship. 8. Creative Thinking & Problem Solving a. To present a biblical perspective to Creative Thought & Problem Solving in the Kingdom of God. b. To introduce and encourage appreciation and application of a sample of creative thinking tools and processes as a lifestyle habit and value. c. To help students LEARN by THINKING. d. To provide students with the experience of participating in a small group creative thinking and problem solving exercise. 15

9. Public Speaking a. To introduce principles and practical guidelines to effective communication in terms of knowledge of subject matter and audience, captivating the audience, styles, handling nervousness, and non-verbal communication. b. To critique the students' one-minute speech on any topic. 10. People Helping Skills II (Renewed Thinking, Growth and Change) The course provides practical principles on how to identify the root issues of problems and essential attitudes and skills to help a person take ownership of the problem for responsible change. Case Study, group processing, role-playing and regular written assignments are key features in this course. 11. How to Preach (Theory/Practical) a. To introduce biblical preaching and the biblical preacher. b. To introduce principles and guidelines of developing an expository sermon. c. To introduce principles and guidelines of delivering an expository sermon. d. To learn to critique a sermon. e. To preach an assigned biblical passage (for selected students only) 16

12. Ministering to the Next Generation To provide biblical and practical teaching on ministering to children in a G12 church including the following: a. The spiritual development of children b.
