New Beginnings Divorce Support Groups Are you or is someone you love dealing with separation or divorce? The Archdiocese strives to make known Christ's healing love, so that all who suffer from separation and divorce might experience new life, reconciliation and restoration; meet people in a similar position; and find help to rebuild their own lives. We also recognize that separated and divorced people are not mere recipients of the Church's compassion; they are as well ministers of that compassion. Through their vulnerability, suffering, courage, faithfulness, and patient endurance, they bear witness to Christ and his redeeming grace in the world. SOME GOOD NEWS My dear friends, As you know, we will be welcoming 12 senior citizens into our local community this fall. Construction and renovation of our property at 127 King Street is well underway. Nearly $1.3 million dollars has been raised for the project with most of the funds coming from grants and donations from the community. Our building, which had fallen into disrepair needed substantial updating and renovation. Thus far the construction crew has already finished the following tasks: removal of asbestos insulation, replacement of aging sewer lateral connection, repair of sidewalk damaged by sewer replacement, replacement of windows throughout with new energy-efficient windows designed for safe egress in emergency, removal of worn-out kitchen counters, flooring, cabinets and appliances, demolition of bathrooms to prepare for remodeling, and removal of worn-out rugs to be replaced. Workers will soon start on the redesigned bathrooms, a new modern kitchen and evaluating furniture options to serve the 11 tenants plus the live-in manager (also a lowincome senior), and the common spaces like the dining room, living room, kitchen and patio. With your continued prayerful support, we will soon complete the refurbishing of our property. At that time, we will be able to welcome 12 lucky seniors into a place where they will be able to forge a healthy new start on their "golden years" within a warm, supportive and welcoming community and a stable, affordable home. Saint Patrick Parish in partnership with Home Bound of Marin is truly making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. We are living out a Gospel value of providing for those with housing needs. We should all be very proud of this worthwhile endeavor! May God continue to bless all the good that we do for one another and the stranger among us, and may the months and years ahead be filled with grace and happiness for us all. Monsignor Michael Padazinski
