We take shelter in Him so we can be strengthened to serve in the world. Welcome! Large print bulletins are available and children s bulletins are available on the table in the Narthex.

Those who are able are invited to stand. PRELUDE What a Friend We Have in Jesus John M. Rasley LIFE OF THE CONGREGATION LET US WORSHIP GOD TOGETHER Moment of silence to prepare your hearts for worship SONG OF DEVOTION (remain seated) (hymnal & screen) # 224 We Have Come into His House CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7) Leader: Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. People: Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song. Leader: Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; People: for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care. INVOCATION Leader: Almighty God, meet us in this place so that we might worship You. Fill us with Your Spirit, heal us from all wrongs and direct our hands in Your service. Bind the evil one from our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen SONGS OF PRAISE (hymnal, insert & screen) # 655 Sanctuary Heart of Worship CALL TO CONFESSION (Deuteronomy 29:18) Leader: Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison. Let us call out to God and confess our sins so that we might experience God s mercy. Please join me in silent prayer. SILENT PRAYER

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Unison: Gracious Lord, we confess that we have given into the temptations to put the things of this world ahead of You in our lives. We have lifted our families, careers, possessions, and our personal gratification above You. Please forgive us for worshipping these false gods and restore our relationship with You. Help us to keep You as the highest priority of our lives. In Jesus name we pray. Amen ASSURANCE OF PARDON (Joshua 24:14-18) Leader: Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Then the people answered, Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other gods! It was the Lord our God Himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. And the Lord drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites, who lived in the land. We too will serve the Lord, because He is our God. Sisters and brothers in Christ, believe the Good News that you are forgiven! AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Apostle s Creed Unison: I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
