The Installation of officers on the night of April 11 was a beautiful ceremony. A special night with my mother acting as installing officer. I am humbled to take on the office my mother served in twenty-eight years ago and that my father s mother Dorothy served sixty-one years before me. I am so proud to carry on that legacy. I am looking forward to serving as the ladies leader in the new year. Working together with our Elks Brothers and Sisters and committing our part to see our lodge succeed. Congratulations to Nora Carter and her officers for a successful and fun-filled year. The music award scholarship winners, Camp Wapiti-State major project, Project Read, The Forgotten Patients, UVU Turning Point, The Benevolent Trust, UBET, and The Elks National Foundation will all benefit from the monies raised. The ladies were also able to set aside some money for improvements to the LOE Room. There will be a collection container in the LOE room or contact one of our ladies. The Ladies of Elks Annual Yard Sale will be held on June 24 th at the lodge this year. As you are spring cleaning, please consider bringing items you no longer need to the lodge. The ladies would appreciate donations of volunteer time and/or donated items from the ladies and the Elks that day. More hands make lighter work. If you cannot help, perhaps you may buy a treasure? Board meeting will be held at 6:00 on May 3 and May meeting/ potluck will be on May 10 in the Ladies Room. My theme for this year is: Stay Positive, Work Hard, and Make It Happen. Simple as that.
