THE VITAL ROLE OF PERSONAL DEVOTION IN END TIMES, a seminar presented by BROTHER NED GERBER OSB from Forward In Faith International Australasia, will be held here at St John s Saturday, 2 March, 10:00AM to 12:30PM. The ANNUAL VESTRY MEETING will be held Sunday, 24 March after the 9:30AM service, approximately 11:00AM, in the Hall. LENTEN QUIET DAY: THE DESERT FATHERS AND MOTHERS Saturday, 9 March, 10:15AM to 4:15PM The Church of St John the Evangelist, Birchgrove and Spring Street, Birchgrove / Balmain The Sydney Mission-College of the Oratory of the Good Shepherd invites you to begin the season of Lent with a day of prayer and silent reflection. This annual event is held in the church and grounds of St John s, Balmain. The Quiet Day this year will be led by Archdeacon Robert Braun OGS, from Brisbane, who was for several years an Anglican Chaplain in Alexandria, Egypt. He will give two talks on the insights of the Egyptian Desert Fathers and Mothers and will be available for individual counselling. Morning and Evening Prayer and the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated. There is no charge for the day, but participants should bring a packed lunch for themselves. Tea and coffee will be available. All are very welcome to attend just turn up. 5
