Our Most Beloved Guru and Lifelong Chairperson of the Trust (Enshrined in the Amended Trust Deed on 28 Nov 2013) Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi was born on March 21, 1923 to a Christian family at Chhindwara, India. Her Parents were Shri Prasad Rao and Cornelia Salve, direct descendants of the royal Shalivahana dynasty. Seeing the beauty of this child who was born with a spotless brilliance, they called her Nirmala, which means Immaculate. Later on She came to be known by multitudes by the name of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi-the revered Mother who was born with her complete Self Realization and knew from a very young age that She had a unique gift which had to be made available to all mankind. Shri Mataji was born with a complete understanding of the human nervous system. In order to become acquainted with the scientific vocabulary attached to these subjects, she studied medicine and psychology at the Christian Medical College in Lahore. Shri Mataji s involvement in the freedom struggle is extremely remarkable. She was very courageous and played a daring role as a youth leader of this campaign. In the 1942 Quit India Movement announced by Gandhiji, She was even arrested and put in jail along with other freedom fighters for actively participating in this movement. Shortly before India achieved independence, Shri Mataji married Sir. C.P. Srivastava, one of India s most dedicated civil servant, who was knighted by the Queen of England. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi has dedicated her life to triggering the spiritual ascent of mankind through Self Realization, reclaiming the role of women in spiritual evolution and guiding humanity to correct today s moral dilemmas. It seems that the light of Gandhi s Vision was brought to fulfillment by this Great Lady who is revered as the compassionate Divine Mother by Her followers, as the Messenger of peace by Ayatollah Rouhani of Iran, an Avatar of the modern era by Claes Nobel, grand nephew of Albert Nobel, the creator of the Nobel foundation and Chairman of United Earth. She gifted Sahaja Yoga to humanity in 1970 when She for the first time in the history of evolution of man opened the Sahasrara of the universe at Nargol in Gujarat. Since then She tirelessly pursued, single handedly, Her mission of spreading Sahaja Yoga. In the beginning Sahaja Yoga started in a small way but it spread across the world rapidly. At present persons from more than one hundred and ten countries are following Sahaja Yoga. 3

Our Sacred and Beloved Mother decided to transit to Her Virat and Nirakar form on 23 February 2011. We the children of this Supreme Incarnation bow our heads with gratitude and Love for our Divine Mother for giving us our Self Realisation and make a solemn promise that we shall continue Her Great Mission of sharing this Love that we have felt within, with the rest of the world, through the Self Realisation process of Sahaja Yoga. Sir CP Srivastava, Padma Vibhushan Our Former Chairman (24 Feb 2011 to 22 July 2013) Sir C.P. Srivastava, Padma Vibhushan, KCMG, is the Secretary-General Emeritus, of the International Maritime Organization, United Nations and is recipient of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence in Public Administration, Academics and Management, from the Government of India. Sir CP is the husband of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi and has led an incredible life which is full of achievements. Once, while replying to a journalist he said: My life has been greatly influenced by my wife, now known globally as Mataji Nirmala Devi, the founder of Sahaja Yoga. Her vision of one Almighty God and one human family has motivated me in all aspects of my life. I am sure this can be done world wide as well. I also practice Sahaja Yoga meditation that my wife Nirmala founded. This is a meditation which changes people from the core. It helps them become more balanced and strong. It s always taught free of cost all over the world as we believe that spirituality cannot be paid for in money. Sir CP has been honoured with a large number of International awards that has hardly any parallel in the country. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, by the Government of India, on 31 st Mar 2009. Sir CP has authored the following works which have attracted rave reviews in the country and abroad. (a) Lal Bahadur Shastri: A life of Truth in Politics: 1995 (b) Corruption: India s Enemy Within: 2001 (c) World Maritime University-First 20 Years: 2003 On Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi attaining Her Nirakar form, sir C P Srivastava became the Chairman of The National Trust. He passed away peacefully in Genova, in Italy, on 22 July 2013. 4

During the year 2012 13, there has been a huge increase in number of Foreign & Indian disciples of Shri Mataji visiting the Birth Place of H.H.Shri Mataji, our Beloved Guru, at Chhindwara. The collective at Chhindwara has increased over the previous years. At the birthplace, regular meditation is done in the morning by Sahaja Yogis and Arti is offered at 8:00 pm in the evening. At Linga (cottage) solar panels are planted for power backup. Sahaja Yoga propagation programmes are routinely conducted in the rural areas nearby Linga. Health camps for villagers are organized for their medical checkup. Homeopathic and Allopathic medicine are distributed free of cost. During the year 2012-13, the financial assistance of Rs. 44.00 Lacs was received from the National Trust which was spent for the development & maintenance work at Linga and Chhindwara. The max expenditure was on the construction of the shed over the stage including plastering & painting which cost Rs. 25 Lakhs. 200 broken toilets were also repaired and renovated at Linga before International Birthday Puja 2013. Beside these, the maintenance work like painting and polishing at the Shrine at Chhindwara and the cottage at Linga were also carried out. 6

To maintain adequate greenery at Linga Ashram, a plantation program was launched at Linga under which various fruits bearing plants like Mango, Jambul, Orange, Indian Jujube, Sapodilla (Cheeku), Amla, Jackfruit, Custard Apple, lemon etc were planted. Apart from these various varieties of Rose plants and other seasonal flowering plants were also planted to give an appealing look around the cottage area. The adjoining land has been developed by the forest department. Fencing has been done around Linga Ashram. It has been observed that because of the greenery, at Linga Ashram, animals like rabbit, deer and peacocks, are seen in the area. Chhindwara being the birthplace of H.H.Shri Mataji and a regular centre for celebrating International Birthday Puja, it is an important place of pilgrimage for all Sahaja Yogis. Pratishtan, Pune Pratishthan at Pune, the Holy residence of our Divine Mother and Sir C.P.Srivastava was, by Her Grace and Benevolence, gifted to H.H.Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Sahaja Yoga Trust (The National Trust). This property now stands registered in the name of the HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi Sahaja Yoga Trust, with effect from 8 th December 2010. The said property is constructed over about 3.5 acres of land and the sheer magnificence and size of this property, gifted by the Divine Mother and Sir CP Srivastava, demands regular and timely maintenance and good security arrangements. Pratishtan, Pune Aim of Gifting Pratishthan The property was gifted with the overall aim of creating a museum, within the existing premises, which would be a befitting tribute to the great spiritual revolution brought about by our Divine Mother through Sahaja Yoga meditation globally. The maintenance and development work being undertaken gradually in Pratishthan is in consonance with the afore stated aim. The maintenance and development work carried out by Pratishthan Committee at the Pratishthan, Pune during the FY 2012 2013 is as under: Sr.No. Particulars of the work Expenditure Incurred Remarks (Rs) 1 Monoblock Pump 41,900 2 Solar Light System 18,150 3 Drip & Sprinkler Irrigation System 1,40,000 Advance 4 Lawn Development 1,56,300 2 Lawns 5 Toilets & Wash Room Block 90,000 Advance 6 Civil Maintenance 1,00,000 7 TOTAL 5,46,350 8 Financial assistance The Axis Bank 2,04,332 9

account at Kothurd branch, Pune was closed and funds were transferred to Pratishtan by the National Trust. Development Work The Developmental work is described as below, briefly: 1. Monoblock Pump: The existing pump was unable & inadequate to lift the water from the well & to provide sufficient pressure for all drip & sprinkler pop-ups in the lawns & gardens. Hence, new monoblock pump was installed. 2. Solar Light System: As an economy measure, existing high intensity lamps are being replaced by solar lights in phases to save on monthly electricity bills. 3. Drip & Sprinkler Irrigation System: New developments in lawns & gardens were carried out. It was not possible to irrigate all areas manually and it was turning out to be very expensive in terms of consumption of water which is purchased from the Military Engineering Services. Hence, drip & sprinkler irrigation system has been installed to irrigate the lawns and gardens. 4. Lawn Developments: Existing lawns in front of the main building was quite old and carried a large number of weeds and unwanted shrubs. Hence, this lawn was re-laid. Moreover, one additional lawn at Gate No. 3 has also been developed so as to provide a meditation site for Sahaja Yogis. Lawn at Pratishthan Pune 5. Toilets & Wash Room Block: Occasionally, H.H.Shri Matiji s pujas are being organized at the Pratishthan where nearly 1500 2000 Sahaja Yogis assemble. Existing wash room outside was inadequate for the large collective that gathers 10

at Pratishthan, hence a separate wash room block is under construction. This would provide sufficient facility for toilets & wash rooms. 6. Civil Maintenance: Some portions of the main building required maintenance. This included such work as replacement of broken tiles, and repair of pathways. In addition, the balcony facing the garden in the rear had started rusting. Hence painting was necessary. The needed maintenance work has been carried out. Chandrapur Project Chandrapur is a district of Maharashtra State and as one district of a state with 35 districts, it has the largest number of Sahaja Yogis (more than 40,000 including rural areas) in the world. With the blessings of Shri Mataji construction of Meditation Centre at Chanderpur is progressing well. The marbel flooring was completed in October, 2013. In F.Y (2012-2013) a total of Rs. 13, 27,999/- was spent on construction work. Rs. 10, 00,000 were given by the National Trust on 14/01/2013. This was used for the following work:- (a) Leveling & filling of surface Rs. 2, 19,400/-. A number of initiatives were adopted for Sahaja Prachar Prasar (Propagation) activities in India. Very positive results have accrued from the initiatives taken. An example is the increase in the number of Sahaja Yoga Centres in Nashik (Maharashtra). In January 2012, there were 80 SY Centres in the districts. Today there are more than 200 SY Centres in the district. This is because of the substantial work done by dedicated SYs in rural areas of Nashik. A meeting of Sahaja Yoga Prachar Prasar & Agricultural Seminar and was conducted on 14 th & 15 th November 2012 at Jaipur. This Seminar was attended by more than 250 farmers and Sahaja Prachar Prasar Committee members from all States. The following activities were undertaken during 2012-13: Workshops at National / State level during International/ National /Regional and State level Seminars and Pujas to review and accelerate Sahaja Yoga Propagation activities. The National Committee distributed the kits of Prachar Prasar material and Sahaja Agriculture CD, and pamphlets etc to all States. Chetna Yatra/Prabhat Rallies (Processions) were conducted in all States for mass awareness regarding Sahaja Yoga. Teams were formed for work in rural and urban areas in all states. Revival of Nirmal Shakti Yuva Sangh (NSYS) Our Beloved and Divine Mother, Her Holiness Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, founded Nirmal Shakti Yuva Sangha (NSYS, or Yuva Shakti) in 1988 with the following aim:-. The purpose of Yuva Shakti, is the development of the personality in order to make it much more complete, so that such developed individuals will prove to be great assets to Sahaja Yoga and serve as shining ideals (models) for others to emulate and to derive inspiration from. The aim plus was that we would have a well trained and experienced second line of leadership to provide continuity to this glorious movement of Adi Shakti Herself. Keeping this aspect at the forefront, on 20 th March 2013, at Chhindwara, among a gathering of about 300 Yuvas from all over India, the NSYS movement was revived. It was stated categorically that all Yuva Shakti from all over India are welcome to become members of Nirmal Shakti Yuva Sangha (Yuva Shakti)created by the Divine Mother. Thereafter considerable progress has taken place which will be reported in the Annual report of 2013-14. Sahaja Agriculture 18

By the Grace and Blessings of Shri Mataji a National Sahaja Agriculture Project has been launched in 10 States of India including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Orrisa, Gujrat, and Kerala in 2011. In the past two years many farmers have shown tremendous interest in Sahaja agriculture because of substantially higher yields achieved by them through use of vibrated seeds and vibrated water. A few weeks back it was reported in the news papers in India that suicides in Vidharba region of Maharashtra have been reduced by 50 percent. Sahaja agriculture in this region comprising Nagpur, Chanderpur, Akola, Yavatmal and Amravati districts among others is also being progressed and we attribute this to the efforts in Sahaja Agriculture in this region. Sahaja Propagation in this region includes a some content of Sahaja Agriculture due to the large population of farmers in this area with small land holdings. Two Seminars have been held so far at Jaipur during 2012 and 2013 for the farmer community of Sahajis. There was a large turnout of farmers including ladies at both events and interest shown by all of them is praiseworthy. In every Regional / National / International Puja cum seminar this subject is invariably included wherein power point presentations are made to put across the advantages of Sahaja Agriculture. A stall is invariably established to show the actual produce through vibrated seeds which is 10 to 30 percent higher than through non- vibrated seeds and the vibrations which emanate from such crops also protect the crop from damage due to disease. Farmers have also reported that untimely rains and hailstorm which damaged other crops on a large scale did not affect the fields with vibrated seeds!! 19
