Mims Field Trip President Dawn Taylor reports that plans are still in the works for the field trip and reported, We will be staying at the Best Western in Saraland. Rooms are $90 1-4 people (not all rooms will accommodate 4). Money for the bus MUST be received by meeting day August 12. If we do not have at least 35 people we will have to cancel the bus. A few will caravan to Ft. Mims. I am planning to go to the SW MS Genealogy Society's meeting July 29 to see how many of them want to go. I only have five people including me that are planning to go on the bus right now. So anyone considering attending needs to finalize your decision and get the bus money ($45.00 per person) to Dawn by August 12. Money for the motel accommodations and the entry fee to Ft. Mims should be carried with you; only the bus fee is due to Dawn. If the minimum bus occupancy is not met, prepaid bus fare will be refunded. For planning purposes, I suggest you let Dawn know of your intent to participate and the number of people you will have with you even if you don t pay the bus fare(s) until August 12. Dawn cannot always answer her phone due to her work during the week so I suggest you either text her at 225-719-2379 or email her at rdawnt@gmail.com.
