From Msgr. Frank Chiodo Parishioners, The diocese is undertaking an audit of every parish in the diocese. We have just completed our diocesan audit and have emerged with flying colors. The diocesan officials were here on Thursday evening (Dec. 15th) for a meeting with us, and while there were a few recommendations, they applauded our business office, and our business manager, Mark Paris, for a job well done. I thank Mark Paris for exercising with great care his fiduciary responsibilities for our parish. Our financial statements are accurate and our internal control processes strong. The finance council is entrusted with the responsibility of advising the pastor on financial matters, and as such works closely with our business manager s office. Along with our gratitude to our business manager, we thank our finance council for their labors, and I assure St. Anthony parish, they can have every confidence in our stewardship of the finances and material assets of our parish. A special honor for our parish: our parish seminarian, Max Carsen, will be the lector at the Pope s Mass in Vatican City on January 1st. Check the EWTN television schedule for the Mass time. We are proud of Max. He is a seminarian at the North American College in Rome. Just a reminder that I will be away on sabbatical for Jan. and Feb. Fr. Gehler will be assisted by several priests while I am away. I will remember you in my prayers as always. Please keep me in yours. A sabbatical is given to a priest by the Bishop as a means of personal and pastoral renewal for the priest. I am grateful to our Bishop for this privilege. Blessings to all of you.
