Psalm 118:24 28 July 2013 Tenth Sunday of Pentecost DENOTES STANDING AS YOU ARE ABLE * Worship Music by the Lord s Crew - This Sunday led by Jordan Henderson, apprentice Worship Leader Welcome and News of the Church Opening Praise Here I am to Worship Scripture Reading Psalm 19:7-14 NIV In Unison 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. 12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 118:24 28 July 2013 Tenth Sunday of Pentecost DENOTES STANDING AS YOU ARE ABLE Welcome and News of the Church Prelude The Road To Emmaus (R. Nolte) Introit Call To Worship One: Come! Come and worship, you who woke early and you who slept late; you who come often, and you who don t. Whether we are first or last or somewhere in between; there is room for all of us in God s kingdom and more than enough grace to go around. Let s worship God together! Please rise as you are able in body and or in spirit and join me in the Call to Worship. After the resurrection of Jesus, Peter and other disciples decided to go fishing. To Peter, Christ was dead so he thought it best to return to his old occupation. Women: But was it best? They fished all night and caught nothing. Early in the morning someone called out, "Friends, have you caught any fish?" Upon hearing the reply, he told them, "Cast your nets on the other side." Men: Towards the shore? In a direction where the sun would cast a warming shadow on any fish around? The disciples did it anyway. One: What a catch they had! They had to tow the net to shore because the boat couldn't hold all those fish, and then the disciples knew it was Jesus who commanded them. All: Lord, you made Peter a fisher of men and you can do the same with us. May we follow your leading, even when a catch doesn't seem probable, because our trust is not in our own understanding, but in yours. * Please remain standing for our opening hymn.
