ROTARY CLUB OF JIMBOOMBA Issue 36 09/04/2017 BOOM TOWN GAZETTE PRESIDENTS RAMBLINGS. Hi All, This week we had Chis Thurtel YEP Chair address us on the benefits given to the inbound and outbound youths in our world -renowned Youth exchange program. Over the years our club has been a huge supporter of the program especially when Mal Strachan was in Chris s position and lately with the irrepressible Maike and will continue to be part of this program. I failed to mention in last week s Flood issue that Louie and Christine from the Logan House Fire Support group gave us an equally informing talk on the previous Tuesday on what they do in the community following a fire, especially giving us the incredible figures on fires including over 100 already this year. We will continue to support Louie and Christine as we can. On Thursday, we had the flood postponed Board and Expo debrief meeting and whilst we will discuss more on Tuesday it was very good meeting especially on the Expo which although the bottom line has not been finalised due to a few accounts to come in, it has been very successful and our three nominated charities are going to receive some terrific funding. Finally, I have attached some photos of Maike and her Hervay Bay holiday with thanks host parents Clive and Helen Shields See you Tuesday Cheers Outgoing Dave The Four Way Test Of the things we think, say or do; Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and Better FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
