Tell others--family, friends, parishioners. 2. Put announcement on Page 2 in your parish bulletin or organization newsletter. Many listeners say that they are happy with the change. Their response has been very positive. A mother reports that her entire family prays the Rosary at this time. The world is near chaos yet we have great power to bring the world back to its senses. Our Lady can bring much fruit from our sacrifice of a 6:30 am Rosary. The power of the Rosary is stressed in Joyce Coronel s Catholic Sun June article: A daily practice that defeats evil, brings peace. Don t miss it and do share it. Our Lady of the Assumption Sodality of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is helping to sponsor this month s newsletter. See last page. June Program Highlights Fr. If we show Him our inner wounds, our inner sins, He will always forgive us It is pure mercy. He is all heart and all mercy." - Sunday Angelus address, June 9, 2013 June is the Month of the Sacred Heart Let us seize graces of this month for our family, our Church, our county and our world. * * * * Discover the Treasures of Tobit and Raphael From Mon. June 1 through Sat. June 6 the readings at daily Mass will be from the Book of Tobit. This book is worth our study and reflection again and again. Tobit provides an example of great piety, extraordinary patience and perfect resignation to the will of God. In response to his humble prayers, God sends the Archangel Raphael, whose name means God has healed. Continued on next page.

One who places trust in this angel will appreciate him as an Angel of Everyday Life. He arranges happy meetings, guides travelers, protects young people and guards their chastity. He is an angel of joy, light, peace, health and vision--spiritual and physical--and the patron of happy marriages. Study the book of Tobit. Emulate him. Befriend Raphael and introduce non-catholics to this angel, for the Book of Tobit was removed from their Bibles. Invite Raphael to be your constant companion and confidant in life and the consoling angel of the last anointing. Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints. Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena Thur. June 4 thru Fri. June 12 St. Francis Xavier Church 4715 N. Central (S. of Camelback) At Weekday Masses 6:15 am and 12 Noon, Saturday Mass 8 am and at Sunday Masses. RFR will air Novena starting Thursday, June 4. Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Thur. June 4 thru Fri. June 12 OR Sat. June 13 thru Sun. June 21 Novena Prayer O Jesus, You said, Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. Behold me prostrate at Your feet. With lively faith and confidence in these promises, I come to ask Your aid in this Novena. (Pause to mention your intentions.) From whom shall I ask, O Sweet Jesus, if not from You whose Heart is an inexhaustible source of all grace and merit? Where shall I knock if not at the door of Your Sacred Heart, through which God Himself comes to us and through which we go to God? To You then, O Heart of Jesus, I have recourse. In You I find consolation when afflicted, protection when persecuted, strength when overwhelmed with trials, and light in doubt and darkness. I firmly believe You can grant me the favors I ask. You have only to will it, and my prayer is granted. You are the God of mercies and You will not refuse a contrite and humble heart. But, O Sacred Heart, whatever may be Your decision with regard to my requests, I shall never cease to adore, love, praise and serve You. Amen. Novena may be prayed at any time. Remember the intentions of our nation, our Church and our world. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena was said daily by St. Padre Pio for those who asked for his prayers. Although it can be said any time, it is traditionally prayed nine days before or after the Feast of the Sacred Heart, and considered by many as most efficacious.

A Time for Sadness, a Time for Joy Deacon Patrick Flynn was an integral part of RFR for 30 years. The Lord called him home on April 30. Deacon Pat and his wife, Betty, were members of RFR since the beginning. He gave so many talks for many years. He was one of the first ordained deacons in our diocese. Betty said he prayed the Rosary daily for 50 years. He will be greatly missed.
