That St. Mary s Tipton has Eucharist Ministers who are part of the Ministry of taking Holy Communion to the homebound and to care facilities. Rod and Jerri Daebelliehn started this ministry and were in charge for many years until Rod s passing in 2016. Mike and Marijo Ryan took over the scheduling at that time and continue to do so. Those in the Ministry are: Peg & Bill Driscoll, Buffy & Jeff Johnson, Dale Jedlicka, Arlene Kaefring, Virginia Kotz, Beth Oldham, Mike & Marijo Ryan, Tim & Kate Ryan, Mark & Karen Stueland and Mike Wehde. Mike and Marijo send out e-mails for volunteers each month or call. Whoever signs up serves Holy Communion on days at Prairie Hills, Cedar Manor and private homes. The average each day is between 16 20 people. It takes approximately 1 hour & 20 minutes. If you are interested in becoming a Eucharist Minister, you will need to meet with Father Okumo and must have a background check done. If you have any questions, please contact Mike, Marijo or Virginia. We are so blessed to have these volunteers in our parish! Thank you to all who serve in your quiet, humble way. The Center Ring Leaders 4-H Club wants to recycle your Christmas cards and any other greeting cards that you have. Cards will be collected until February 3rd, 2019. Cards will be recycled and used for art projects at Camp Courageous. They are able to use the entire card for their projects so you do not need to remove the back of the cards. Britney Ford has placed drop boxes at the church entrances where you can leave your cards. Thank you! Also, we are very grateful that Mike Ryan waters flowers on the alter every season that we have Poinsettias and Lilies. The weekend begins on Friday night at 7:30pm and ends on day at 4:30pm. In order to maximize the CEW community experience, all participants spend their time together on the retreat. Meals are included in the registration fee of $45. A series of talks, discussions and activities are conducted by both religious and lay persons which will enhance your awareness of God and your life in the Christian Community. Mass will be celebrated during the weekend. Anyone wishing to grow in their faith, strengthen their personal relationship with God and become engaged with their Christian Community is encouraged to attend. The retreat weekend includes a Catholic emphasis in the talks plus a sacramental presence of the Eucharist and Reconciliation. Non- Catholics are welcome to attend.
