We have had a tremendously active and productive year with only one remaining activity to complete for our Service Programs. Council 599 will be holding a cookout following the end of year clean-up for the St. Bernard s School children, their family members and the staff on Wednesday, June 4 th. Volunteers are needed and should plan to arrive by 4:30 PM! Please sign up on the council website or email me if you can help! Thank you! Regarding the completion of our Service Programs, I am happy to report that the required form has been submitted to Supreme for Council 599 to be recognized as a. This certainly is very significant for our council as it documents how active we have been and recognizes that we are working to follow the vision of Venerable Fr. Michael McGivney. Thank you Brother Knights for all of your time and efforts contributing to our success! Congratulations! We also send best wishes and offer special prayers to Fr. Mark Reilly as he prepares for a new assignment in Massena starting in July! Thank you Fr. Mark for your service to the Catholic Churches of the Mountains and Lakes! Fraternally, Bill McIntyre, Grand Knight Vivat Jesus!

PATRIOTIC DEGREE NEWS One Nation Under God Worthy Master of the Fifth District John Miner has announced there will not be an Exemplification of the Fourth Degree as previously announced. Hopefully one will be scheduled in the fall and would be most likely held on the western-side of the diocese. Any Third Degree member that is interested in the Patriotic Degree should contact the Worthy Master or Worthy Faithful Navigator Claude Premo for more information! Attention Sir Knights! Assembly 700 will be meeting following the June council meeting for the vote of officer positions for the coming fraternal year! MORE REMINDERS! We have the DVD version of the First Degree Exemplification. We need to be prepared and ready to conduct a degree to avoid any lengthy delay in bringing in new members! Anyone interested in forming the degree team is asked to contact the grand knight. To those that have not done so, please promptly send in your dues to FS Phil Capone and avoid having to receive ANOTHER Notice! Thank you! A Message from Knights of Columbus Field Agent Gib Patenaude Update your beneficiaries Sometimes it is easy to overlook the simplest of things. Take the beneficiaries on your life insurance policies. If your policy was applied for and issued several years ago, it could very well be that the person you originally selected as the beneficiary is no longer the person you would want to receive the policy proceeds. If you bought the policy when you were single, for example, you may have named your parents as beneficiaries. If you have since married, your policies should be updated to reflect your spouse as beneficiary. Maybe you ve had children who are not named on the policies. Most people list a primary beneficiary, who is specifically designated as the first in priority to receive policy proceeds. We also encourage the naming of a contingent beneficiary, an alternate person designated to receive policy proceeds, usually in the event that the original beneficiary pre-deceases the insured. As I intend to send out annual notices and invitations for review, I recognize that many needs may currently exist. Consequently, I encourage any and all members to contact me if you have a question or concern or if it has been more than a year so that I may get you on my schedule. I look forward to meeting with each of you to discuss your family s needs. Please contact me at: (518) 637-2832 (cell), (518) 310-1660 (main office) or gilbert.patenaude@kofc.org You can also find the link to my webpage from your council website!
