PEOPLE OF HOPE: Alive in the Spirit T2 RE Learning in The Damiano Learning Community In RE this term we had a lot of tasks to do, but my favourite one was when we got to research about St James the Greater and we got to make a game about him. Jermaine It was interesting to find out about the Vatican City because I learnt a lot of things. Charli It was interesting to find out about all the priests that have been at St. James. Hans It was interesting to find out about volunteers and how they connected to the Holy Spirit because I didn t really know much about volunteers and different organisations. I researched Caritas and discovered that they support over 80 different countries. The one thing that I ll always remember is how inspirational Caritas really is. Ella My favourite task was the one where we had to make a game. Ayak & I made a Kahoot which I then shared with my family. Adeng It was interesting to find out about the Universal Church because I found lots of information about what AD (After death) and BC (Before Christ) meant. Angel I will always remember when we did the sainthood task as I got super hyped because we could draw a picture of a Saint and I chose Saint Maria. Isabella It was interesting to find out about and make our Saint James game because I got to see the reaction of other people who played it. Hannah One thing I went home and shared with my family was the game Daniel R and I created about the local church. James My favourite task was learning about Pentecost because it was one thing that I have loved since Prep. The one thing I will always remember is working with Johanna and making a wonderful game with her. Prada It was interesting to find out about the timeline of our Church history and the Archbishops of each Diocese. Jason C I am most proud of my St Francis portrait because I believe there is a lot of detail in it and I had tonnes of fun drawing it. My favourite activity was my St James quiz on Minecraft because I had a lot of fun testing it and creating it with my partner, Josh. I shared the volunteer presentation with my family because I thought they would learn from it. One thing I found challenging was the timeline of the church because when I did it, it took lots of research & time to do it. Jayden
It was interesting to find out about the different volunteer groups that help poor people in need and sick people too. The organisation that I researched was The Sisters of Mercy. They have a shop where you can donate clothes which they sell and the money goes towards the organisation to help these people. Adam One thing I shared with my family were facts about Vatican City. Grace It was interesting to find out about the Vatican City and the hierarchy of the Church because I never knew what a Priest s, Bishop s and an Archbishop s job was. Leah The fire on the heads of the disciples was The Holy Spirit which made them speak different languages so they could spread the Word of God. Daniel R My favourite task was the board game because you got to share your game with another group. Amy It was interesting that you have to perform three miracles to become a saint. Steven I found it interesting to learn about our local Church because I found out heaps of information about Saint James that I didn't know before. My favourite task was when we had to create a game about our local Church because I really enjoyed making a game and playing other people's games too. I also enjoyed making a google site with Amy about the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Sarah The first thing we did for R.E was to explore the Holy Spirit and Volunteers. I enjoyed that topic because we were able to do research about a volunteer organisation. We were not able to choose our own partners, but my partner was very helpful and I enjoyed working with someone different. We got a lot of work done and we learnt many things about an organisation. I enjoyed this term s R.E and I am excited for next term s learning. Johanna It was interesting to find out about St James the Greater. The way we made the game to teach others about St James was really fun. Ethan T
WELL DONE! The Grey Wolf Award is the pinnacle of the Cub Scout Section, and takes at least 1 year to complete. Matthew has worked over the last year on his scouting work which culminated in Matthew organising and leading 6 other Cubs on a tough 3 hour hike to Werribee Gorge. Matthew not only had to learn how to tie knots, he had to visit community service groups and charities to find out how they help his community. He has spent many a weekend camping in the bush and learning how to take care of himself and his fellow Cubs as a junior leader or Sixer. For part of his award, Matthew earnt his Faith Awareness Badge (with help from Lucy), learning one of the key points to being a good Scout Duty to my God.

CCS is here! Changes have been made to your Government Subsidy. Did you know that on Monday the 2 nd of July the Government s old fee assistance, CCR and CCB, were replaced with a single Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Great news is this new subsidy is available at all Camp Australia services! CCS affects the amount of fee assistance each family receives. A few things that will determine a family s level of Child Care Subsidy are: Annual income will determine the percentage of subsidy a family is eligible for, An activity test will determine how many hours of subsidised care families can access, and The type of child care service will determine the hourly rate cap You must confirm your enrolment as soon as possible on the MyGov website: https://my.gov.au/ and confirm your personal details. This is what determines how much assistance you will receive. Due to CCS being brand new, your details will not automatically roll over from previous years, so to prevent any complications please confirm your enrolment otherwise you may not receive any subsidy until you do so. You can find more information at: https://www.education.gov.au/childcarepackage. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon, Camp Australia We Make Kids Smile
