01.24.19 Published weekly on Thursday Page 3 Imagine not having a warm bed on these cold nights. There are people locally who don t have to imagine that scenario, and they need your help. Why is it so difficult for Trinity s Becky Enney and Joe Hunter to get 14 overnight volunteers just 2 a night for the week of February 24-March 2? The beds shown above are set up evenings, December through March, for the Winter Overnight Safe Haven program, located near the Farm Show complex. Around 20 men can sleep in this clean, warm, dry space instead of on the street. Two volunteers make coffee, chat, and sleep in an adjoining room. Right down the hall are the staff of Susquehanna Harbor Safe Haven, part of Christian Churches United, or CCU, of which Trinity is a member. From Becky: As People of God, we are called to minister to each of these homeless men and to see the Christ in them, for when we help the least of us, we are helping Jesus! Please help. Sign up in the Gathering Space. Men, come to breakfast and discussion Saturday, February 2, 8-9:30 am, home of Tom and Linda Hoffert, 144 Henry Road, Enola. Eat breakfast at 8, then gather for a discussion that ends at 9:30. Our Men s Breakfast Gathering is relaxed and informal a great way to meet other Trinity men. All men are invited just contact Tom or Linda so they know how much food to prepare: Twhoffert@verizon.net or 717-732-3403.

Fortunately, one year ago, Trinity s Finance Committee re-established an Operating Fund Reserve Account, allocating $10,000 in order that monies would be available for budget deficits or other unforeseen budget/operating fund situations. In the case of the 2018 deficit, the Finance Committee authorized the release of reserve account funds to reimburse the operating fund for that amount. Anyone have a pickup truck we can use?
