Visit Our New Website Today, we celebrate the birth of the Church. On this Pentecost Sunday, we remember that day when the Holy Spirit filled the hearts and minds of the Apostles and Jesus' followers. Until then, they were timid and afraid; they could not fully understand who Jesus was, and why he had to rise from the dead. Now with boldness and courage, they go out and proclaim the good news that Jesus is Lord! During this Easter Season, we have listened to the Acts of the Apostles. The Acts of the Apostles could really be called the Acts of the Holy Spirit. It is in that book of the bible that we hear of how powerfully the Holy Spirit is acting in the early Church. Because of Jesus' promise of the Spirit, the disciples go out with courage to tell everyone about Jesus. How about you and I? Are we timid and afraid, or do we tell others about Jesus? In and through our baptism and confirmation, we have been given that same Spirit. In the power of the risen Lord, let us be bold and courageous, telling everyone "JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!" Parish Visit The Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of Brooklyn, will visit Our Lady of Grace Parish on Sunday, June 26th and will celebrate the 10:15 AM Mass. All are welcome to come and say hello to our Bishop. Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread The demand on our food pantry has increased greatly during the recent months. Therefore, we find that we must turn to our parishioners for help. We need pasta, mac & cheese, tuna fish, canned fruits, canned vegetables (corn, potatoes, string beans, spinach, and beans) Donations may be brought to the convent any weekday morning. God bless you for your generosity and concern. Pastoral Ministry is asking for volunteers to work in our food pantry. The pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 11:30am. If you or anyone you know is interested and can commit to one or two mornings a week, please call Annette in the Pastoral Ministry Office at 718-375-0668. THRIFT SHOP: Until further notice, the Thrift Shop can only accept donations of baby clothes, house wares, and jeans. We cannot accept any other items.
