WARREN COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIP LOVING GOD TO LOVE OTHERS December 30, 2018 9:00 & 10:45 am JOHN 6:1-14 JESUS WILL PROVIDE
Welcome! If this is your first time here, we'd love to meet you. Come by the Welcome Center in the Lobby for more information. Coffee, Tea and Snacks are available in the Lobby. Feel free to bring them into the Worship Center to your seat during service. Today's Journey Abraham called the name of that place The Lord Will Provide, as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it will be provided. (Genesis 22:14) Do you believe God will provide? Trusting in God s provision has been a weak point in man s relationship with God as far back as the garden. Abraham was put to the test, "To what extent will you trust God?" Abraham was called into relationship with God, promised a great heritage and given a son. Then God commanded Abraham to sacrifice that child. Having great faith that God would provide the solution to his dilemma, Abraham answered his son's question, where is the lamb for the burnt offering? (Gen. 22:7) with, God will provide. Not knowing how God would provide, Abraham believed God. Much later on another mountain, Jesus put His disciples to the test. Consider the account of Jesus feeding the multitude with loaves and fish in the Gospel of John. Jesus asked Philip, where are we to buy bread so that these may eat? (John 6:5), Philip responded that there was not enough money to buy bread for even a taste, let alone feed so many people. Jesus asked this question to test Philip (vs 6) knowing that He would provide the solution. Then Jesus proved Himself as God the Provider as He fed over 5,000 men, not counting women and children and He had 12 baskets of leftovers. God has been providing for His people all along their faith journey. God provided for Abraham on Mount Moriah, God provided manna, quail and water as Moses led Israel out of Egyptian captivity, and God has provided for man a savior through Jesus. Do you trust in God to provide? Jesus has proven Himself to be trustworthy; will you believe Jesus to provide for you? Pastor Cary Wacker
