Blood Drive at Saint Mary s Sunday, February 17, in School Cafeteria Saint Mary s will be having a blood drive on Sunday, February 17, from 8:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m., in the school cafeteria. Please bring ID and remember to eat before you donate. Donors should be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Unfortunately, we no longer participate in this program. However, if you are still interested in donating poptabs, Saint Stanislaus School (221 MacArthur Avenue) in Sayreville does collect pop-tabs for the Ronald McDonald House - please do NOT leave tabs at St. Mary s; bring them to St. Stan s school. Designer Handbag Bingo at Our Lady of Victories Friday, February 22, at 7 p.m. Our Lady of Victories Designer Handbag Bingo Fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, February 22, at 7 p.m., in Monsignor Dalton Hall (42 Main Street) in Sayreville (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). Snow date is February 23. Ticket price is $35 and includes 10 games of bingo/1 bingo card per game with 5 Level-1 and 3 Level-2 Raffle Tickets. For Your Safety This Winter Weekday Masses and Inclement Weather After much thought and careful consideration, we have decided that it is best to follow the South Amboy public schools schedule for inclement weather in the winter. If the schools are closed due to snow or ice, then that day s Mass will be cancelled and the parish office will also be closed. For weekend Masses, please check our website or Facebook page before heading out to see if Mass has been cancelled (and spread the word to those who may not have access to a computer). Most importantly, whether it is a weekday or weekend Mass if the weather is poor, please do NOT risk your safety to come to Mass. The Choir will be continuing its fundraising efforts by holding another 6-month Calendar Raffle with drawings being held every Sunday from July 7 to December 29. Foundation for Catholic Education Second Collection Next Weekend There will be a second collection next weekend, January 26/27, for the Foundation for Catholic Education, which provides scholarships to financially-deserving children attending a Diocese of Metuchen Catholic elementary or high school. Over 100 deserving children are enrolled in one of our schools today thanks to your generous support of last year s collection. Hundreds of families, hoping to give their children the gift of a Catholic school education, will seek financial assistance from the FCE Scholarship Program for the 2019-20 school year. Your gift will send a child to Vatican II and the Church of the Third Millennium Taking place at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center (146 Metlars Lane) in Piscataway, on Wednesdays, January 23, 30 and February 6, from 10-11:30 a.m. Join Fr. Diocesan Respect Life Mass and Pro-Vita Awards Bishop James F. Checchio will celebrate the Annual Diocesan Respect for Life Mass at noon this Sunday, January 20, at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen.
