BUSINESS MEETING Year 2018-2019 DECEMBER 9, 2018 RIVER OF LIFE CHURCH OF INDIANAPOLIS, INC. 3255 German Church Road, Indianapolis, IN 46235

River of Life Church of Indianapolis, Inc. Business Meeting, December 09, 2018 ROLC Vision & Purpose River of Life Church believes that God has always called the church from its inception to making disciples. We believe God s goal for the local church ministry is that the total body is fully developed for the purposes of reproduction. The intentional training of disciples, with accountability, on basis of loving relationships is our desire for every person who connects with ROLC. Our Vision River of Life Church exists to give God the glory as we seek to develop fully-devoted followers of Christ. We envision a ministry where God is our consuming passion. A ministry with a reputation of being radically God-centered in every aspect of life and ministry. Passionately pursuing Christ-like character and conduct Humbly serving one another in the Body of Christ Wholeheartedly worshiping the one true God Lovingly proclaiming Christ to those who need Him Assessment: Are we meeting our Vision & Purpose? Pursuing Christ-likeness Sunday Messages o We started the year of 2018 concluding a series of messages learning what it means to be a Church of Integrity. Continued on from there to hear from the scriptures of how we are to live as Christians, through a series titled God s Instructions Revealed. Then the Spirit of God lead us through more teachings on Who God is. Currently, we find ourselves concluding the year with our current series The Sermon on the Mount. Real Talk o Real Talk was developed from the start to allow for a better understanding of how to live the Word in our world today. It gives us time to address real issues with God providing the answers. o Real Talk is a crucial ministry and has been modified to allow selected members to share their testimonies and offer topic driven panel discussions. Tuesday Bible Study o To help us grow spiritually and become better followers of Jesus, Tuesday Night Bible Studies have continued through the year with the focus of making us become better students of the Word. They are meant to draw us closer in understanding Sunday messages and address lingering questions. Sunday Celebration 1:00pm Tuesday, Bible Study 7:00pm www.riveroflifeindy.org 2

o Disciple-making is the foundation of this ministry. Better followers of Christ are those who are better students of the Word of God. Women s and Men s breakfast o Women s Breakfast were held on the 2 nd Saturdays and Men Breakfast 4 th Saturdays of each month. o These breakfasts were a success for the women and offer a substantial room to grow for the men. New Membership Course o This year we held one New Membership course at the beginning and middle portions of the year. o This course provides those wanting to belong to our family of believers the foundation of our beliefs and how they could play vital part in our ministry. Youth Days and Events o The youth were able to express themselves in worship and through church events, which emphasized their spiritual and social growth. o 2019 will bring with it a continued effort to get our youth more involved to grow in their faith and discipleship. Utilizing our Gifts to serve one another There was greater focus to the commitment to our events and programming this year. The successes witness through all activities, demonstrate that when we serve together we honor God together. o We will continue teaching what the gifts are through our membership classes and discipleship training. o The discipleship approaches will provide helps for members to discover and utilize their gifts. Worshipping God It has always been the intent of this church to provide fresh, contemporary ways to show that our God is central to our Sunday Celebration services as well as our other times of celebration. With a focus on the young adult generation we modernized our look as much as possible. While implementing some traditional songs and methods that make River of Life Church the church God has formed it to be. Building our Reach This past year we seen growth in our outreach ministries. (i.e. Car Wash, Family and Friends Day, Community and College Days) we incorporated many family and friends to assist in the serving of our Lord. It is our hope to continue building relationships for better service and fellowship to our local community. We are determined even more to join God where He is working. Elders Assessment of Ministry Participation Negative View our church has an issue with consistent participation in service to one-another and to serving our local community. When we come together for the big events and programs we do well. However, after events we seem to take long breaks away from service and fellowships. Participation Positive View We do have a core group a people that have demonstrated commitment to the vision of River of Life Church and to the areas of service that can help us move forward. It is time to Rebrand and Recharge our efforts to grow this ministry for the Glory and Honor of our Lord. The Loss of members and visitors Explanation Throughout our history we have had those who have come and go, Just like any church would. There have been false rumors spread from Sunday Celebration 1:00pm Tuesday, Bible Study 7:00pm www.riveroflifeindy.org 3

current members and even past members that the leadership, more specifically me, is in the practice of Kicking People Out of the Church. This is false, no one has been kicked out of the church. However, people have been asked to submit to the Lord, His Word and His Appointed Leaders. if they are unable to do so, they may want to find a church that will allow them to proceed as they so desire. ROLC Goals & Objectives for 2019 Overall, this past year brought many, God Honoring successes, with still more room to grow together in our service together. We have served well from a place of vision and growing in the knowledge of understanding our identity and purpose. How can we serve better? God is showing us that we can serve better through knowledge and understanding of those whom we are serving. What matters to others? Therefore, we are urging the ROLC family to prepare themselves to ask those whom God send across your sphere of influence, one simple question, How can we be of Service? Along with this question each person through the guidance of the Holy Spirit should prepare themselves to respond appropriately to the answer they receive. In this 2019 year of our Lord; River of Life Church of Indianapolis, Inc. focus is to 'Serve our Neighbors' by becoming purposeful in discipleship among our internal community and becoming more intentional of our placement on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. By fulfilling one simple external community principle 'know and serve your neighbor(s)'. ROLC Community Service o Community Service Resources As has been witnessed our community needs not only spiritual help. There is also a need for physical, family, financial and many more forms of helps. It is our vision for this year to find out what resources are already available in our community and partner with those entities. As we ask the question, How can I be of Service? we want to be prepared to provide if we are able or point those in need to the appropriate place of helps. ROLC Brand o New Colors, Logo and Website To reach those we desire to help, 1 st impression cannot be lost impressions. We know our message is good, because it s God s message. We know our followship is getting better, as we grow in Identity and Purpose. We need to share this with others, with the tools, talents and resource we have. Thus, the reason for the recharge of our Brand. Sunday Celebration 1:00pm Tuesday, Bible Study 7:00pm www.riveroflifeindy.org 6
