Josh Squires Terry D. Taylor Based on John 8:12 + HYMN: Jesus! What a Friend for Sinners HYFRYDOL Trinity Hymnal, no. 498 Jesus! What a Friend for sinners! Jesus! Lover of my soul; Friends may fail me, foes assail me, he, my Savior, makes me whole. Jesus! What a strength in weakness! Let me hide myself in him; Tempted, tried, and sometimes failing, he, my strength, my vict ry wins. Jesus! What a help in sorrow! While the billows o er me roll, Even when my heart is breaking, he, my comfort, helps my soul. Jesus! What a guide and keeper! While the tempest still is high, Storms about me, night o ertakes me, he, my pilot, hears my cry. Jesus! I do now receive him, more than all in him I find; He hath granted me forgiveness, I am his, and he is mine. + PRAYER OF INVOCATION + HYMN: Jesus, Lover of My Soul MARTYN Trinity Hymnal, no. 509, stanzas 1 and 2 Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to thy bosom fly, While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high: Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past; Safe into the haven guide, O receive my soul at last! Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on thee; Leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me! All my trust on thee is stayed, all my help from thee I bring; Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of thy wing. CHILDREN S SERMON: Team Foul Children s Catechism #37 Q. What effect did the sin of Adam have on you and all people? A. We are all born guilty and sinful HYMN: Jesus, Lover of My Soul Trinity Hymnal, no. 509, stanzas 3 and 4 Thou, O Christ, art all I want; more than all in thee I find: Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind. Just and holy is thy name; I am all unrighteousness; False and full of sin I am, thou art full of truth and grace. Plenteous grace with thee is found, grace to cover all my sin; Let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within: Thou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of thee; Spring thou up within my heart, rise to all eternity. EVENING PRAYER PRESENTATION OF EVENING OFFERINGS OFFERTORY: Your Word is a Lamp to My Feet Your Word is a lamp to my feet, And a light unto my path. Amen. SCRIPTURE LESSON: I Peter 2:1-3 (Pew Bible, page 1014) SERMON: Unchanging Grace for Uncertain Times Enjoying God PRAYER Dr. Gabriel N.E. Fluhrer + HYMN: O Come, My Soul, Bless Thou the Lord TIDINGS Trinity Hymnal, no. 6 O come, my soul, bless thou the Lord thy Maker, And all within me bless his holy name; Bless thou the Lord, forget not all his mercies, His pard ning grace and saving love proclaim. Good is the Lord and full of kind compassion, Most slow to anger, plenteous in love; Rich is his grace to all that humbly seek him, Boundless and endless as the heav ns above. His love is like a father s to his children, Tender and kind to all who fear his name; For well he knows our weakness and our frailty, He knows that we are dust, he knows our frame. We fade and die like flow rs that grow in beauty, Like tender grass that soon will disappear; But evermore the love of God is changeless, Still shown to those who look to him in fear. High in the heav ns his throne is fixed forever, His kingdom rules o er all from pole to pole; Bless ye the Lord through all his wide dominion, Bless his most holy name, O thou my soul. + BENEDICTION + CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE May the Peace (Benediction) May the peace of God our heav nly Father, And the grace of Christ the risen Son, And the fellowship of God the Spirit Keep our hearts and minds within his love. And to him be praise for his glorious reign, From the depths of earth to the heights of heav n; We declare the name of the Lamb once slain, Christ eternal, the King of kings. POSTLUDE: HYFRYDOL Keith Getty and Stuart Townend CCLI No. 393170 arr. Malcolm Archer

To Be Noted Thank you for turning off cell phones during the worship service. Please leave any food or drink outside the Sanctuary.
