The Prayer of Confession (In Unison) Loving God, we confess that we are not always faithful stewards of your many blessings. We fail to see your gifts in ourselves or each other. We fail to invest the talents and treasure you have entrusted to us. We hide them and hoard them, living by fear rather than faith. Forgive us, Lord. Empower us to invest our gifts in the tasks to which you call us. Give us the courage to risk ourselves in service to you, our loving Lord and Savior. Amen. *The people will rise in body or spirit

The Church Responds *The Affirmation of Faith - Apostles' Creed (In Unison) I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. The Prayers of the People and Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. The Offertory Invitation God asks us for an accounting of what we have done with the resources entrusted to us. How are we investing our time, talent, and treasure? May we share all that we have and all that we are, this day and every day. Please sign and pass the Friendship Registers located near the center aisle. Thank you! November First Sunday Mission Offering Our First Sunday Mission Offering in November goes to the Samaritan Counseling Center of Western Pennsylvania. The Center is a faith-based, non-profit organization that helps individuals and families find spiritual, emotional, and physical healing through professional counseling and educational programs. Samaritan Counselors seek to provide more than a relief from symptoms; they strive to help clients discover and address the underlying factors that are keeping them from becoming the people God intends them to be. The Center offers a variety of services, including one-on-one counseling for adults, children, adolescents, couples and families, spiritual direction, grief support services, and group seminars. Fees are adjusted according to a client s ability to pay. The Center is funded, in part, by contributions from churches, organizations, individuals, and foundations. Samaritan Counseling has seven locations throughout Allegheny, Beaver and Butler Counties, including the office here at Saint Andrews. To help fund this quiet but vital ministry, simply use a First Sunday Mission Offering envelope found in the pew racks or mark First Sunday Mission in the memo portion of your check. Thank you! Moving Pews Hanging of the Greens November 30, 2014 Please plan on staying after worship on Sunday, November 30, for the annual Hanging of the Greens. We will decorate the church and then share a light lunch of pizza and pop. This is a great opportunity for fun and fellowship for the whole family as we deck the halls together! Last Fall, after the air conditioning in the sanctuary was replaced, a number of people mentioned they missed the physical closeness of worshiping in the Memorial Room. They said they felt freer to sing out with more people nearby. To help foster a similar sense of closeness, we are now roping off the last 6 pews of the sanctuary and asking everyone yes, everyone! to move up several pews. This will allow our diehard Presbyterians to continue to sit at the back of the congregation while drawing all of us a bit closer together. Scientific research has shown that moving more than 8 pews can cause the bends (a nightmare for both divers and pew hoppers) but medical experts have assured us this change is well within AMA, FDA, NCAA, SPCA, and PCUSA safety guidelines. If you have any concerns, please don t hesitate to contact the church office.
