RED CEDAR CHURCH QUARTERLY TRANSPARENCY REPORT 2018
A LETTER FROM OUR EXECUTIVE PASTOR At Red Cedar Church, our mission and vision is driven by God, but our actions and decisions are measured and implemented by looking at the data. We believe that numbers DO matter because each number represents a person and every person matters to God. Therefore, every person and every number matters to us. This last year has been a transformational year in the life of Red Cedar Church as we said goodbye to our Lead and Worship Pastors, Heather and Jeff Semple. We believed wholeheartedly that God wasn't done with Red Cedar Church, and the numbers here show that God IS moving in this place. We have been unbelievably blessed as all of YOU, the church family, have helped keep the mission moving forward and reach people for Jesus Christ. It is with gratitude to God that I get to be a part of what He wants to do here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Throughout a transition, attendance and giving numbers tend to drop and you'll see some of that reflected here, although Red Cedar has always defied the statistics and what's normal. I have overwhelmingly felt God's presence in this season and I look forward on the year to come as we welcome the new Lead Pastor, Adam Waite. Live Full, Craig Rayment Executive Pastor 2
OUR MISSION Red Cedar exists to lead people to a FULL LIFE in Jesus Christ. OUR VISION To reach the lost, teach the truth, and release to serve. OUR FOUR CORE PRACTICES 01 WEEKENDS We believe it is healthy to have a weekly gathering to learn more about God as a collective group. 03 NEXT GEN We believe the next generation, infants to high school, is not the church of tomorrow. They are the church of today, so we are dedicated to seeing kids & students grow closer to Jesus. 02 OUTREACH Ten percent of every dollar given to RCC is spent outside the walls of the church in our community and around the globe. Yet every dollar is spent on the mission of leading people to a full life with Jesus Christ. 04 GROUPS Life is better together, and this is why we promote and encourage you to be involved in a group of people who intentionally meet to grow in their relationship with each other and with Jesus. 2018 MILESTONES LAUNCHED A CAMPUS! 2018 MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS RCEC HOSPITALITY We saw 27 people go public with their faith through baptism and declare to the church body that they are going to live in a new way. It was an awesome experience for volunteers, attenders, and staff to see the reason why we were launched happening before our eyes - to see the kingdom of God grow here in Eau Claire. Through helping the leaders of the hospitality teams become more focused on their own spiritual development, we have seen entire teams become healthier spiritually. We are seeing volunteers help with the spiritual formation and discipleship of their entire teams! PRAYER & CARE WORSHIP & CREATIVE ARTS Over 500 people committed to 21 days of prayer and fasting in November and God is moving Red Cedar forward because of it. People are finding freedom from bondage and new intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The joint Worship Night between Creative Arts and RC Students was a big success. The youth brought an energy to worship that the adults don't often experience, and they did so well during the times of prayer and reflection. It was great to bring the world of weekend worship together with our students, and to participate in Communion as a whole body. 10 13
2018 MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS RC STUDENTS RC KIDS We have challenged our students this year with a mission: Each One Reach One. Every kid has someone in their school and community they can reach for Jesus. After hearing a story from someone in our church family about how important it is that they share Jesus with their friends, over 80 students made the commitment to Reach One. The Incredible Family Fun Night was a new event this year, where 1 person made the decision to follow Jesus for the first time, 21 people chose to recommit their lives to Jesus, 50 people volunteered to help, 275 people attended, and 8 families signed up to take a follow-up class on biblical parenting. OUTREACH GROUPS We sent teams of people into four local communities to partner with the Barron County Sherrif's Department and local police department's National Night Out. We gave away over 750 free backpacks filled with school supplies, and served over 240 people at our Compassion Closet where they were able to shop for clothes and household needs at no cost. We launched Live Out Love, an initiative to equip Full Life Groups to develop projects to help people in their own communities. Projects included paying for groceries at the grocery store, giving out free concessions at the drive-in movie theater, helping a widow with some home construction & lawn care work that she could not have done on her own, and more! 11 14 13
2018 MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS NEXT STEPS FINANCE & FACILITIES A woman in our church family accepted Christ, was baptized, and has now been taking every next step possible as she grows deep roots into her relationship with Christ. She is even co-leading a group on how to hear God. It's amazing to watch her courageously walking into the "more" that God has for her. We have launched two classes on finding financial freedom from Joseph Sangl's curriculum, 'I Was Broke. Now I'm Not.' One of the couples who attended the class was struggling to communicate and trust each other, but the group study combined with one-on-one coaching has helped them to break through some of the trust issues and realize some underlying problems they had in their still very new marriage. They now have a renewed hope of partnership in their finances and marriage. 12 14 13
