St. Mark s Lutheran School Notes Our chapel service on Wednesday, March 23, will be led by our 7th grade class. Offering will be going to Camp Wartburg near Waterloo. St. Mark's Pre-K will be holding an Easter Tea Party on Monday, March 21 at 1 pm in the school cafeteria. Each student may ask one guest and there is a fee of $2 per child and adult. They will visit different Easter-themed stations and enjoy sandwiches, fruit, & cookies, along with tea or punch. Feel free to dress up for this special occasion. No siblings please! Parent/Teacher Conferences for K-8 will be held Wednesday, March 23 from 3-7 pm and Thursday, March 24 from 8 am -12:00 noon. There will be no school on Thursday, March 24. Parent/Teacher Conferences for Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 will be held Tuesday, March 22 from 3-5 pm and Wednesday, March 23 from 8:00 am-7:00 pm with no Pre-K classes on this day. The 3rd quarter will end on Friday, March 18 & report cards will be given at these conferences. Easter break at St. Mark's will begin with no school on Good Friday, March 25 and continue through Monday, March 28. Classes will resume on Tuesday, March 29 at the normal time. The proceeds will go to the St. Mark s Boys Athletic Fund. The school board has set the final week of the 2015-2016 school year. The last full day of school will be Monday, May 16. There will be no school on Tuesday, May 17 for Teacher's work day. On Wednesday, May 18 we will have 11:30 am dismissal which will close the 2015-2016 school year and report cards will be sent home with students that have accounts paid in full. This will also be our field day full of fun and games! Graduation is set for Sunday, May 29 at 5 pm in the evening. St. Mark's will continue to collect UPC codes from Campbell's products until the end of this 2015-2016 school year. Mrs. Helen Mayer, our label coordinator, has been informed by Campbells that the company will be discontinuing the program after this school year. So save those Campbells soup UPC codes while you can and bring them to school until May 16th. Remember that only the UPC code from the label can be used. Thanks to everyone for saving UPC codes for St. Mark's all these years! Super Raffle has been Extended! If you missed purchasing a Super Raffle Ticket then you are in luck! We have extended the drawing of the Grand Prize, and the other main prizes, to May 7th (at the St. Mark's Dinner Auction). We held a drawing on March 6th at the Chicken Dinner for an "Early Bird" drawing consisting of 5 prizes and the winners were: Madina Renner-$1,000, Jason Vallett-$500, Cindy Sickmeyer-$250, Tim Allard-$100, and Marilyn Kueker-$50. Those that win prizes at the Early Bird drawing will go back in for the drawing at the Dinner Auction. Women s Day of Renewal The 16th annual Women s Day of Renewal will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran School and Church in Collinsville, IL on Friday and Saturday, April 1 & 2, 2016. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Seder Meal on Maundy Thursday at 5:00 PM The Board of Evangelism will be sponsoring a Seder on Maundy Thursday in Fellowship Hall (5 PM) for the first 30 people to make reservations. The Seder Meal is the Passover Meal that Jesus and his disciples participated in on the night He was betrayed. This meal is ceremonial and not meant to replace your evening meal.
