The Messenger Youth News We would like to thank everyone who participated in our Annual Valentine Brunch this year!! Our goal was to raise enough money to cover Chris Marsh s scholarship donation. And WE DID!! We collected Thank You! Mark Your Calendar The Youth will be leading Easter Sunrise Service again this year. Easter Sunday April 1st, 2018 7 am In the Sanctuary Mary Lou s Message Jesus performed miracles. They were amazing! Healing the sick, turning water into wine, casting out demons, calming storms and even raising the dead! Everyone who saw and heard about the miracles were amazed especially those who became well and whole! He changed their lives. Jesus did more than making the people whole physically; he made them whole spiritually. When people connected with Jesus, they became aware of their own sin. Jesus offered them love and mercy. He forgave their sin. Jesus did something interesting as he went about his ministry, he connected with people and invited them to participate in His ministry. He invited Simon to let down his nets. The blind man was told to go wash in the pool. The Lepers were told to go show themselves to the priest. The things Jesus asked people to do were not too difficult in some cases they were things they had never been able to do before. As they used the faith they had, and did what Jesus asked them to do, Jesus healed them! Jesus did another interesting thing, he picked 12 disciples, he mentored them. Jesus then gave them power and authority and sent them out to share what Jesus had taught them and to heal the sick. Jesus gave them the ability to work miracles when they took on the authority that Jesus gave them. As they were obedient to Jesus, they connected to other people and were able to work miracles. Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He gave all his believers his power and authority to connect with people and heal the sick. If we take on that authority, connect to people and them to Jesus, lives will be changed, and miracles will happen. We must take on the authority that Jesus gave us. We must use the faith that we have been given. We must follow Jesus! Are we ready? Are we willing? The power is still there! Take Thou Authority! MOCHIP Child ID We are currently in the Lenten Season. I hope each of us is taking time to connect with God and God s best for our lives. Each moment we spend in this pursuit will help us grow to be more like the person God has called us to be. We will be more effective in our lives. On Saturday, March 3rd from 10am to 2 pm the Aurora United Methodist Church (1211 South Carnation Drive Aurora, MO) is hosting the Missouri Child Identification and Protection Program.
