A word from the President Well, spring is just around the corner (I hope) and the weather will be getting right to ride. I am so excited about the opportunities we will have to share the Gospel as we hit the road on the bikes. Last Saturday some of our officers attended the State Leadership Meeting in Pineville. There are some changes that have been and will be taking place in 2012. The biggest change is the Regional Evangelist. We have been blessed with the appointment of John Ogden, Jr. as our new Regional Evangelist. I have heard him share the gospel several times in the last year and was very impressed with his understanding and closeness to God and God s plan for CMA and the South Central Region. God is going to do some mighty things this year and all we need to do is listen to His call and move as He leads. Check the calendar and the Newsletter for upcoming events and make plans to follow God as He uses our chapter to reach the lost and serve those around us. Oh, and always Wear Your Colors. It s All About JESUS! David Smith, President. This is a song we sing at church and it tells a lot in just a few words. It caused me to do a short study on Grace. Grace that sustains: 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said unto me, My Grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the Power of Christ may rest upon me. Here Paul had a vision and refused to be exalted in himself but rather to glory in the One he saw in the vision. So Paul was given a thorn in the flesh; so he would not be exalted above measure and he sought Jesus about this three times and Jesus answered him. John 1:16 And of His fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. These are all scriptures on Grace and these are not even close to being all about our Grace given to us by Jesus. There is no end to the Grace of God in our lives. Let's give God the glory and praise for His Grace. It s all about Jesus! Come early, (around 6) to eat and fellowship and we will begin the meeting at 7:00 P.M.
Road Captain Report Well the New Year is here and moving fast and I ask for prayers in my new role as Road Captain. Any suggestions you may have will be greatly appreciated. I have scheduled a visit with valentines for the veterans in the VA nursing home in Pineville for Saturday, February 18 at 10 A.M. Let s let the veterans know we appreciate them and the service provided by them for us and our country. With warmer weather in the future, I am hoping we can ride to Rocky s Restaurant in Bunkie for a nice meal and fellowship and opportunities to share Christ with others. Rocky s has a great variety of foods. On January16 David, Jean, H.O., Dennis, Dillon, T.W. and Phyllis enjoyed Bikes and Burgers at Popeye s in Jena with great fellowship. Don t forget Bible Study on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at Midway Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Bring your Bible and a desire to grow in the Word. (Also bring some sandwiches, chips or dessert!) # # # # # # # # # # # A word of caution, remember to be prepared this time of year with warm clothing. Also with the rain, slow down and remember the roads are slick. In 1 Corinthians we are reminded that we are servants of God. Mother Teresa once said Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing. It s all about Jesus. James Dedman, Road Captain February is Canned Food Month, so in keeping with that, let s all bring a couple of cans of food to our February chapter meeting and I will deliver it to the LaSalle Council on Aging. I have spoken with them and they are excited to receive our assistance for their programs.

The official groundhog lives in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Our little rodent friend (yes, Groundhogs are classified as rodents) is called Punxsutawney Phil. According to legend, if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow (the day is bright and sunny), there will be six more weeks of winter weather. If he does not see his shadow (the day is overcast), there will be an early spring. On February 2, Punxsutawney Phil comes out of his burrow at Gobbler's Knob - in front of thousands of followers from all over the world - to predict the weather for the rest of season. For the Record Phil sees his shadow about 9 out of 10 times. Valentine s Day is February 14! Every year about 1 billion Valentine cards are sent. After Christmas it's the largest card-sending occasion. Teachers receive the most Valentine's Day cards, followed by children, mothers, wives, and then, sweethearts. Children between ages 6 to 10 exchange more than 650 million Valentine's cards with teachers, classmates, and family members. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + My love is like a cabbage Divided into two, The leaves I give to others, The heart I give to you.
