We are in need of a Recorder. Please prayerfully consider taking on this officer position. Saint for the Month of September: St. Cloud 522-560. St. Cloud (St. Clodoald) was the youngest of three sons of Clodomir. When Cloud was eight years old, his uncle Childebert plotted with his brother, to get rid of the boys and divide their kingdom. The eldest boy, Theodoald was stabbed to death. The second, Gunther fled in terror, but was caught and also killed. Cloud escaped and was taken for safety into Provence or elsewhere. St. Cloud made no attempt to recover his property. Instead, spent the rest of his days instructing the people of the neighboring country. Find out more about the Saint of September at https://www.catholic.org/ September 8: National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children September 9: Wisconsin Right to Life Day. Thurs Sept 20 St. Francis Home Thurs Sept 27 Lutheran Home GOING, GOING, GONE If you are heading south for the winter in the future months and would like to stay informed of the events of Council 664, give me a call. I can either forward your newsletter or not send it to you while you are gone. A simple phone call or e-mail will get it done. Please call Tom Schmitz at 923-1215 or e- mail him at trsknights@yahoo.com. If you are e-mailing please put Council 664 in the subject line, any unfamiliar emails will not be opened. I have had a few requests about removing your name from the mailing list because you may read the newsletter on line. However, this is not the reason for the hold. It is to try to cut back and save the money it is costing the council to send out the newsletter and then having the cost of it being returned back to us as undeliverable while you are gone for a month or more. It also keeps us update on your mailing address if you moved. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Columbian Club News WE NEED YOU!!! As a Brother Knight, you are also a member of the Columbian Club. The Columbian Club is responsible for managing the business aspect of our organization as well as managing and maintaining our beautiful facility. This responsibility is not just for our Club Manager or the Columbian Club Board of Directors. It s all of our responsibility to make sure our organization stays healthy and grows steadily. We cannot support our facility with only club functions but rely heavily on public events to provide the financial stability needed to run a successful business. We re all being asked to put on our marketing hats and help promote the Knights of Columbus Hall for various functions. Not only are we being asked to consider holding our next personal function at the KC Hall, whether it be a wedding, anniversary, birthday party, or funeral dinner, but also to promote the KC Hall for other non KC functions as well. Most of us attend different functions throughout the year at various other establishments. This might be a meeting luncheon or dinner, a service club function, some sort of fund raiser, or some sort of annual dinner meeting. Maybe you know the person who is responsible for organizing the event or maybe you know an officer within the organization. Next time you see them, ask them if they ever considered holding their event at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Our Club Manager Jim Reider and his team do a fantastic job of adapting to the specific needs of any organization. We have a beautiful facility that is as good as any other facility in the surrounding area. The quality of our food and drink is some of the BEST around. Being the BEST however does not mean our prices are high but rather we offer an A+ for quality of food, beverage, facility, and staff. Call Jim or any of the Columbian Club Board of Directors for help or suggestions on how you might get that next outside event booked at the KC Hall. PROMOTE YOUR CLUB!!! There is some sentiment to reinstitute the dinner. Jerry Lauby will research and report back to the council. Culture of Life-Adam Case will now report on Culture of Life events as the Council 664 Lecturer. We will work with other councils in our effort to support various events around the area and the state. Adam announced several Right to Life events coming in the months ahead and he emphasized that Culture of Life is from conception to death. He noted that the most recent Columbian magazine supports life in one manner of another. He also told us that Sept. 8 th is the National Day of Remembrance of aborted children. Sunday, October 7 will be Rosary around the world and Hands Across America. We also were reminded that Pope Francis recently indicated that there is no reason for Catholics to support the death penalty. Chicken Dinner-Chairman Jim Rieder indicated that the event will be October 11 and that all tickets will be sold in advance. Volunteers are needed to work in the kitchen and other areas. St. Patrick s Day Dinner/Show-Tickets are being printed. Advance ticket requests are running high, it s not too early to get in your request for a ticket. Contact Terry Muehlmans for ticket information. Chaplain s Report-Father John challenged each of us to work on brief spiritual reflections. We should look at ourselves and strive to improve one area of weakness. Do a daily examination of conscience. Plan for the upcoming month and check your progress daily and at the end of the month check your overall progress. Hopefully, we can each work to eliminate one of our vices, pray Jesus, I trust in you. District Warden Report-District Warden Larry Lenhardt informed us that Archbishop Listecki recently awarded the Salvation Army for their good works.
