Suffolk Chapter Light Knights of Columbus Vol. 19 No. 1 January, 2019 SUFFOLK CHAPTER NEWS From the Chapter Chairman s Desk Chapter Officers Greetings from the Suffolk Chapter, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The annual Chapter Christmas party at Reverend Rogan Father Halpin Council 1816 was terrific as usual. January 9th will be the Charity Drive and Ball Kick-off. Make every effort to attend. Some changes are being made. Suffolk Chapter Charity Drive Books will be available. I would like to inform everyone Mike Tully PGK, FDD, PFN is taking over the position of comptroller. Please help all those affected by natural disasters or who are in need. Look for the flier for the FAC Valentine Dance. Let s make it a successful event to help our brothers and sisters. Remember, the Chapter is an extension of the councils, keeping everyone in touch with one another. Working together, we become stronger to accomplish our goals. On Friday evening December 14 th, the Chapter held their Christmas Party. We would like to thank GK Brian Evans and all the Brothers from Rev. James V. Rogan / Fr. John P. Halpin Council 1816 for their hospitality. We would also like to thank Mr. Anthony and the Central Islip High School Choir for the wonderful concert and performance that evening. Pictured is the Choir as well as our Chapter Chairman Bob Elliott presenting Mr. Anthony a small token of our appreciation. As always it was a delightful and fraternal evening that was enjoyed by all! Page 5

Conceived in 1953 as a place of pilgrimage, actual construction began in 1972 on 65 acres of land donated by a generous benefactor. An 18 foot statue of Mother and Child, carved from a forty ton piece of granite at the Rock of Ages Studio in Vermont was added in 1975 and stands atop a glacial boulder of rose quartz that has remained in position for the past 15,000 years.
