As the retail industry slashes prices on those unsold Christmas decorations and moves them to the clearance racks, they begin pulling out boxes and stocking shelves with their new inventory. Out comes the red hearts, pink roses, lip shaped balloons, cards, heart shaped candies, and even stuffed animals singing Love Me Tender. It doesn t matter that Valentine s Day is still weeks away. No one minds that we are rushing the season because we all long for that warm, fuzzy feeling we get around Valentine s Day. Especially this winter with all the snowy days and plunging polar vortex temperatures! It is February, the month of LOVE. When we hear the word love the first definition most people think of is in a noun form: an intense feeling of deep affection. This love is usually reserved for our spouse, our family, and people that hold a special place in our hearts. But during our Emmaus Walk we learn about another love. 1 Peter 1:22 says to love one another deeply. That is the love our Heavenly Father extends to us and the love He calls us to have for one another. This kind of love Peter is talking about is not a noun, nor an adjective. This love is a verb- a call to action. Not to just feel love, but to do love, show love, and share love. Over the next two months we have the opportunity to share our love with the pilgrims and team members that will be part of the Women s Walk # 62 being held February 20-23, and the Men s Walk # 58, scheduled for March 20-23. We invite you to come be a part of those weekends by serving or cooking a meal, providing table or meal time agape, participating in the 72-hour prayer vigil, and attending the Candle Light service Saturday evening and Closing on Sunday afternoon. Check out the Greater Sidney Area Emmaus website at www.sidneyemmaus.org for additional details and times. Come. Be a part of the Body of Christ, sharing your love. Come and be blessed while you are blessing others. De Colores! Lisa Newcomer

As I reflect back on the preparation for WW#61 and the weekend, I'm unable to put what I experienced into words that are fitting. I'm so very thankful that I was given the opportunity to be a part of it all. We all experience things that have a major impact in our lives. This walk was something that will forever be etched in my memory. I'm always in awe of how God does what He does. I saw Him work in and through so many people in so many ways. Ladies lives, along with mine, will forever be changed. I'm reminded of God's overwhelming love and grace. God, in all his majesty, chose to dwell among us during the weekend. He never ceases to amaze me! He is truly an awesome God! May he be honored and glorified! Data Base Reminder Just a reminder that our outreach/data base coordinator has been working very hard to have an updated, easy to use website so that the Emmaus Community will be able to have accurate information available for use. If you have not updated your personal information yet or if you are having difficulty accessing the data base website, please contact Corinne Olson at Emmaus_outreach@yahoo.com (that s Emmaus_outreach) and she will assist you. In order for this database website to work, WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need YOU to take the initiative to have YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION correct. It will help us have a better understanding as to who wants to serve on teams, serve in the kitchen, supplying Agape, blessing us with special music, etc. or whatever your God-given gifts may be. Please take a moment to review the Data base registration information in the October 2013 Newsletter to guide you in accessing the Data base. Again, if you have issues, please contact Corinne. She would be happy to help you. Allie Kuhn

This experience was more than I could have ever imagined. The Good Lord assembled an amazing team to be his servants for the weekend and help 24 new pilgrims feel His Love maybe more than ever before. Candlelight and Closing were well attended and we thank you for coming out and letting your Light Shine for others. Again I was truly Blessed and Humbled by this experience and I would like to thank all who sponsored, served, and prayed for the Men of Walk #57. Emotionally Healthy The condition of our heart is an indicator of our emotional health. A wounded heart limps along vulnerable to fatigue and frustration, while a healed heart can resist the wiles of the world. Healthy emotions heal. A strong heart has access to an abundance of grace, so its capacity to offer forgiveness and exercise patience is vast. Yes, the grace of God gives health and wellness to all who engage its easy availability. When emotions are in good shape, we are in sync with the Spirit. Just as we care for our physical health, so must we manage our emotional well-being. Check- ups with a mature Jesus follower increase our understanding of where we stand. The expertise of a trusted spiritual advisor is necessary for us to be objective in our own emotional assessment. Like a trainer instructs in how to keep our body healthy with a balance of weights and cardio, so a spiritual trainer gives us insights in how to express our feelings and forgive personal offenses. 1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit is the best manager of our emotions. Just as a successful coach leads a team to work together to win, so to does the Spirit lead our emotions to work together for God s glory. When our emotions are under the influence of the Holy Spirit, we walk in wholeness and holiness. Emotional health happens when our feelings are filtered by the Spirit. He removes distasteful impurities. Indeed, a heart controlled by the Spirit is able to give life to other lives. How s your heart? Are you keenly sensitive to the Spirit s leading or are you overly sensitive to fleshly feelings? Have your emotional wounds healed? Are you blessed with a healthy heart? Take a risk and be vulnerable about your past hurts, so you can experience present healing. Surround yourself with caring Christ followers with whom you can process your feelings. Most of all share your heart with your Savior Jesus, who will cleanse, heal, and make your heart whole! Taken from Wisdom Hunters Devotionals
