N S. J B J 24, 2018 Please pray for the repose of the soul of Francis J. Barrett and for his family and friends at this time of sorrow. Altar Servers God asks us to Serve. One of the important messages God gives his people is to serve one another. By becoming an altar server, young people can begin to fulfill God s request. Altar servers serve the congregation, the priests and one another in celebrating the Mass. By learning to be an altar server, young people provide vital assistance to the church and help lead the congregation in prayer. They learn to respect God s church but also learn to respect themselves. It also is a fulfilling way to start a lifetime of service to God, his church and his people. Altar serving promotes responsibility, accountability, leadership and above all, teamwork. If you are interested in becoming an altar server please speak to Father Mendoza. Our past host weeks proved that volunteers are the heart of the program, and it has been a wonderful experience for all. In thanksgiving for our many blessings, please prayerfully consider giving a few hours of your time and talents by volunteering to prepare a meal, be an evening host or overnight host, setting up or breaking down the living spaces, or other tasks.
