The fall 2017 Walks are finally here and we have attached the list of pilgrims and team for Walks #101 & #102, who are coveting your prayers. We are looking forward to see what the Lord has in store for these upcoming weekends. Sponsors know that they are to have their pilgrims at the Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Retreat Center by 7 p.m., Thursday night, for Send Off. But Send Off isn t just for sponsors and their pilgrims!! The Community is encouraged to attend as well because we all serve as team members, even though we may not be staying at the camp. Other times that the Community and Sponsors are encouraged to arrive are on Saturday Candlelights (7:30 p.m. for Men s and 8 p.m. for Women s ) and Sunday Closing ( 3:30 p.m.). If you have not done so already, please go to the T.R.W.E. website and sign up for the Prayer Vigil, 4th Day Service, Snack Agape. Remember that God has richly blessed YOU, so that YOU can be a blessing to others!! Pass it on The GIFT of EMMAUS.. SHARE the LOVE! The Gift is a program of the International Emmaus Community that helps people all over the world start NEW COMMUNITIES. Twenty-five years ago, Three Rivers Walk to Emmaus was organized because some other communities helped us get started! We need to return the blessing! DeColores,

Judy Grice TRWE #40, Sharon Gallagher #72 and Lisa Wahl TRWE #54 ------------------------------------------------------------------ If you are making Agape, please see below for how many to make. Men s Walk- Everyone (Team+Pilgrims) 36; Pilgrims only 9; Dining Room 31 So.at the Candlelight services for Walks #101 and #102 the total amount of the offering will be donated toward The Gift program. The Board of Directors will match donations up to $250. Please be generous... Women s Walk- Everyone (Team+Pilgrims) 60; Pilgrims only 25; Dining Room 50 REVISED BYLAWS In keeping with the guidelines provided by our Nashville Home Office, the TRWE Board of Directors undertook the review of our Bylaws, which were last revised in 2014. After much review and discussion, the Board, with a 3/4ths vote, approved revisions to the Bylaws to be effective January 1, 2018. You can review the revised Bylaws, along with the changes that were approved, by clicking on this link: TRWE REVISED BYLAWS In accordance with the stipulations in the Bylaws, unless a petition is signed by at least 25 members, the Bylaws will go into effect on January 1. Please feel free to review the Bylaws in detail, but following is a summary of the revisions that have been approved by the Board: Article III Objectives Typo correction Article IV Membership Clarification of the timing of Annual Meetings, Gatherings, and notice of announcement of a slate of names of new Board members Article V Board of Directors Clarification of the make-up of the Board of Directors. The make-up of the Board is not changing. We simply tried to clarify the number of positions and the intent for the Community Spiritual Director (CSD) and Community Lay Director (CLD) to serve one additional year after their term ends to help in the transition. Article VI Duties of the Board of Directors (VI.B.1) Changed the annual term of the CSD to begin on January 1, rather than July 1, so that the term of all members of the Board would run January 1 December 31. Also clarified that a Clergy person could serve 3 terms as CSD on the Board, in addition to 3 terms as Board Director. This was not really a change in intent, but rather simply a clarification to avoid confusion. (VI.K) Job Descriptions for the Executive Committee will be revised and approved as needed rather than annually. (VI.L.1) Lay Directors for walks can serve as Lay Director in Training on any prior walk, rather than on the prior walk. (VI.L.3) Clarified the make-up of the Team Selection Committee. (VI.K and VI.M) Eliminated the requirement for 11 Coordinator positions. This will not change the NUMBER of Board members, but will allow newer, inexperienced Board members to not have to fill

defined Coordinator positions immediately in their first year. This will give them an opportunity to function on the Board and assist Coordinators, without having to take on the full responsibility of a Coordinator role. Other changes in this Article were simple clarification of procedures already in practice Article VII Duties of the Executive Committee Removed the need to review and approve changes to the Executive Committee duties annually and, rather, as needed. Article VIII Amendments/Revisions Clarified that the procedure for ratifying amendments also applied to revisions. Article X Ratification Changed the dates to reflect that these new revisions will be effective January 1, 2018, and that these replace the prior Bylaws that were last amended on January 4, 2014. If you have any questions on the revised Bylaws, please contact me (chub.dietz1@comcast.net or 412-657-8876 ) or any other Board member. Any petitions to oppose the revised Bylaws must be received by a Board member not later than December 15, 2017.
