Bulletin Announcements for December 2015

Transcription:

Why spend time before the Blessed Sacrament? This is a great opportunity to tithe your time! You are greatly needed! "The Church and the world have a great need of Eucharistic adoration." "Jesus waits for us in this sacrament of love." Your hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament will repair for evils of the world and bring about peace on earth. "Let us be generous with our time in going to meet Jesus and ready to make reparation for the great evils of the world. Let your adoration never cease." (Pope John Paul II, Dominicai Cenae) Jesus is counting on you because the Eucharist is the source and summit of life. "Every member of the Church must be vigilant in seeing that the sacrament of love shall be at the center of the life of the people of God so that through all the manifestations of worship due him shall be given back love for love and truly become the life of our souls." Jesus wants you to do more than to go to Mass on Sunday. "Our communal worship at Mass must go together with our personal worship of Jesus in Eucharistic adoration in order that our love may be complete." You grow spiritually with each moment you spend with Jesus! "Our essential commitment in life is to preserve and advance constantly in Eucharistic life and Eucharistic piety and to grow spiritually in the climate of the Holy Eucharist." (Pope John Paul II, Redeemer of Man) Day and night Jesus dwells in the Blessed Sacrament because you are the most important person in the world to him! "Christ is reserved in our churches as the spiritual center of the heart of the community, the universal Church and all humanity, since within the veil of the species, Christ is contained, the invisible heart of the Church, the Redeemer of the world, the center of all hearts, by him all things are and of whom we exist." The best time you spend on earth is with Jesus, your BFF, in the Blessed Sacrament! "How great is the value of conversation with Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, for there is nothing more consoling on earth, nothing more efficacious for advancing along the road of holiness!" Just as you can t be exposed to the sun without receiving its rays, neither can you come to Jesus exposed in the Blessed Sacrament without receiving the divine rays of his grace, his love, and his peace. "Christ is truly the Emmanuel, that is, God with us, day and night, he is in our midst. He dwells with us full of grace and truth. He restores morality, nourishes virtue, consoles the afflicted, strengthens the weak." With transforming mercy, Jesus makes our heart one with his. "He proposes his own example to those who come to him, that all may learn to be like himself, gentle and humble of heart, and to seek not their own interest but those of God." If the Pope himself would give you a special invitation to visit him in the Vatican, this honor would be nothing in comparison to the honor and dignity that Jesus himself bestows upon you with the invitation of spending one hour with him in the Blessed Sacrament. "The divine Eucharist bestows upon the Christian people the incomparable dignity." (Pope Paul VI, Mysterium Fidei) If Jesus were actually visible in church, everyone would run to welcome him, but he remains hidden in the Sacred Host under the appearance of bread, because he is calling us to faith that we may come to him in humility. "The Blessed Sacrament is the Living Heart of each of our churches and it is our very sweet duty to honor and adore the Blessed Host, which our eyes see, the Incarnate Word, whom they cannot see." (Pope Paul VI, Credo of the People of God) Please consider this as an invitation to unite with our Lord in adoration. Start small like 5 minutes and slowly work your way up. Our essential stillness allows Jesus to speak to us. Deacon Tim Jan 13, 2019 The Baptism of the Lord Weekend Mass Schedule St. Patrick's (StP) N. Introduction This Christmas season ends with a beginning we celebrate Jesus baptism and initiation into his ministry. The ancient promise of justice to Israel is fulfilled in him whose mission, empowered by the Spirit, will focus on peace and justice. Our baptism mirrors his as the beginning of what we are called to be and do. We are all empowered to be instruments of peace and justice and to invite others to join us. Jan 13th, 2019 The Baptism of the Lord Reading I: Isaiah 40:1-5,9-11 God calls Isaiah to proclaim mercy on the people. Reading II: Titus 2:11-14; 3:4-7 Baptism regenerates and renews the lives of believers. Gospel: Luke 3:15-16, 21-22 By Baptism we become sons and daugters of God and partakers of the mission of Christ. Your next opportunity to view the PowerPoint about why Catholics have left the Church and what we might do to change this will be next Sunday, 1/20, @ 9 AM in St. Pat s Hall. Understand the problem; brainstorm solutions. Go to our website s bulletin page for info regarding retreats for high school students. Registration deadlines are fast approaching. The Abortion Expansion Act Act today! The Reproductive Health Act, is a bill coming to the NYS Legislature. It would allow non-doctors to perform abortions; abortions for any reason in the third trimester of pregnancy right up to a mother s due date; remove all criminal penalties for abortion, even if it was contrary to the mother s choice, such as the intentional targeting of an unborn child in an act of violence; and remove our state s protections for infants accidentally born alive in the course of an abortion. Gov. Cuomo and the Democratic leadership want this to pass! Be a voice for the voiceless. Go to the New York State Catholic Conference website at www.nyscatholic.org Click on Stop Abortion Expansion. Enter your home address information, then select Send Message. Your message will automatically be sent to your State Senator, State Assembly Representative and the Governor. Our legislators need to learn of our opposition to this bill before they vote on it, which could be anytime in the first 30 days of the session! While you are there, you can join the Catholic Action Network and receive occasional emails (no more than once a month) when issues like this come up which need our action by contacting our legislators. I, Tyler Bray, am very excited to grow in fellowship with Christ, my fellow missionaries, and those we will serve during my upcoming mission trip to Lima, Peru. I will be traveling with other University of Pittsburgh students who are members of the Fellowship of Catholic University Students during our spring break of service this March! For some background, my faith began locally in OLOL- I attended St. Michael School and my family (Jeff, Kristen & Kelly Bray) have been active members of St. Michael Church for many years. Please consider becoming a member of my team and help spread Christ s love by becoming a financial sponsor or praying for us- every little bit helps! To donate, please visit http://focusonline.org/goto/tylerbray or call/text me at 315-454-2880. God Bless!
