St. Kilian Catholic Church Page 7 Knights of Columbus Council 6332 Annual Fund Raising Drive to support the Intellectually Disabled This Weekend November 7th & 8th Proceeds support Summer Camps. $1000 sends 1 person to camp. Donations of $1 from every person at All Masses will send 4 people to camp. Our Goal is $8000 or 8 people Summer Camps - All proceeds collected go directly to fund a series of weekend and week-long camps that benefit the Intellectually Disabled here in Orange County. These camps provide an environment where children and adults with disabilities can participate in activities which will enhance their skills, independence, confidence, and self-esteem. Participants experience a variety of social and educational activities including arts and crafts, music and dance, drama and journal, recreational games, field trips, and spiritual activities. One-on-one attention is provided throughout the day by young volunteers. ALL Did you wonder what that beautiful light was that you saw shining from the top of St. Kilian hill on Saturday October 31... Well, it was coming from each and every child and adult that attended and participated in our All Saints Day Mass and Celebration! We had over 200 people, babies to eighties, attend our special Children s Mass and afterwards the children visited and received treats from the 15 tricked out trunks. Thanks to EVERYONE for supporting and participating in this special event. Our Youth did an excellent job proclaiming the Word, serving and bringing up the gifts during Mass. We are so grateful to our parents and parishioners for their donations and participation AND to our CONFIR- MATION STUDENTS for their help in the parking lot, cooking and serving our refreshments, handing out treats and helping clean up. The youth of our parish are outstanding role models for our children and we are so appreciative of their enthusiastic participation. St. Kilian Catholic Church Page 11 Do you know someone who is homebound, facing major surgery, receiving chemotherapy, dialysis, or is chronically ill or lonely??? Perhaps they would like a beautiful prayer shawl or lap blanket knitted or crocheted by one of our Prayer Shawl Ministry members and blessed by one of our priests. Prayers are said for the one who will receive the shawl by the one making the shawl. The shawls and blankets are free for the asking. Spanish Mass As Father Bruce mentioned a few weeks ago, we will be adding a Spanish Mass to our Sunday Mass schedule as part of our Parish response to the Jubilee Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis. We are looking for Spanish speakers who would like to be a part of planning these liturgies. We need lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Sacristans,Altar Servers as well as anyone else who would be interested in this new and exciting liturgy. Thanksgiving Food Drive The holidays are just around the corner and your donations are desperately needed. Turkeys! Turkeys! Turkeys! Donated TURKEYS will be accepted for ONE WEEK only at the following times: Nov. 16th 20th, Monday through Friday 8:30 am TO 12 Noon Nov. 17th, Tuesday 4-7 pm Nov. 19th, Thursday 4-7pm Due to limited freezer space, this is the only time we can accept turkeys.
