PARISH NEWS HOSPITALITY SUNDAY TODAY, April 19, is Hospitality Sunday. Please join your fellow parishioners in Bovard Hall after the morning Masses for coffee, juice, and donuts. Celebrate the Easter season reconnecting with friends and making new ones. If you would like to help with Hospitality, please stop in the kitchen and we'll introduce you! WHAT A CELEBRATION The Easter Vigil service and reception was amazing! Thanks to all who helped make it happen. Enthusiasm was abundant and joy prevailed. Food was absolutely delicious! Thanks and more thanks for a wonderful celebration of life, light, love and the Lord! Ed. to learn more about important times/topics dealing with your kids, grandkids - all kids. Even if you aren t in the process of raising kids - they are important! Topics are (4/20) - Raising Responsible Kids and (4/27) - The Teen Brain - danger and opportunity. Come discover more about them and how wonder-ful kids are! Sessions begin at 7 pm in Bovard Hall. NEW PARISHIONER DINNER We need your help May 6 th Dear parishioners: we are hosting dinners for new members and are seeking folks interested in helping. The next dinner is scheduled for May 6 th. Our meals will consist of SOUP, BREAD, CHEESE, roasts or poultry, and dessert. We welcome people to help cook, setup, serve and cleanup. Most of the food will be prepared at home and brought to Bovard Hall. Set up for the meal will start at 6:00 with meal serving sometime after 7:00 p.m. Cleanup should start by 8:15. Pray about this. SACRAMENTAL FIRST COMMUNION SING & PRAY Today, Sunday, April 19 come to our one and only sing and pray practice for all those preparing for 1st Communion in two weeks. So much excitement as we get closer and closer to receiving our Risen Lord in Eucharist. Please keep these children and their families in your special prayers. RCIA - MYSTAGOGY Our newest members, Justine Allaway, Jessica Baier, Derek Hyatt and Mike Hatcher will meet each Wednesday evening in April during this time of Mystagogy. These special weeks help us all to deepen the mystery. We rejoice with all of them as they grow in faith. We learn from them too! They have experienced the awesome joy of meeting the Lord. Pray that they and all of us never lose that precious gift of the love for Jesus. BAPTISM PREP If you have been blessed with new life in your family through birth or adoption, we are glad to have you share that life with us through Baptism. The diocese asks us to take this step with knowledge and prayer. A Baptism Preparation Session will be held TODAY, April 19 from 10:30 till noon. YOUTH MINISTRY DATE CHANGE: DIVINE MUSIC Join us on Sunday, May 3rd for Encounter: Divine Music Eucharistic Adoration with praise & worship music. Teens grades 9-12 and your friends are invited. We start with lunch at 12:30pm and end at 2:30pm. Encounter will not meet on April 26 th. Upcoming Encounter dates: May 17 & 31 STEUBENVILLE SUMMER YOUTH CONFERENCE The Steubenville Youth Conference invites you into a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ through the Sacraments of the Church and the power of the Holy Spirit. This experience of Christ s love gives you a safe place to open your hearts to become His disciple and embrace the mission of the Church. FREE MOVIE TICKETS St. John Neumann Parish has been selected to receive 205 tickets for a new movie LITTLE BOY (a powerful and moving film about a little boy and his big faith) for Thursday, April 23 at 7PM at Cinemark North Hills and XD (McCandless Crossing). You can pick tickets up in the religious ed. office. Donations are welcome, but not necessary. CATHOLIC HEART MEETING Those participating in Catholic Heart Workcamp this summer are asked to attend a very important meeting on Tuesday, April 28 th at 7pm. Please bring: Medical insurance card, and identification. Teens must bring at least one parent/legal guardian. There are still 3 spots open. If you are a teen going into 9 th grade or older, OR an adult who would like to join us for a week of service and fun, call Julie before 4/26. SPIRITUALITY FROM THE STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE This week, April 19, the quote from Pope Francis is: 'We can bring the Gospel to others only if it has made a deep impact in our lives'. Keep the Easter season alive in a special way by joining the adult Scripture study group on Thursday morning from 9:45 to 11:15. All are welcome as we reflect on the coming Sunday scriptures and especially the life of the early church as we find it in the Acts of the Apostles. The door of Conf. Room A is open and the coffee is ready in the kitchen. Do something new this season and come to read and reflect on the Word with a group. John & Paul Church in Rm. 10 in the lower Cardinal DiNardo Center. This group is jointly sponsored by Sts. John & Paul, St. Richard & St. John Neumann parishes.
