Trinity United Methodist Church Pastor, Rev. Rosa K. Slavik Trinity Times July 2015 From the Desk of Pastor Rosa Find Inside: Anniversaries Birthdays Young At Heart Calendar VBS Photos Greetings special people! There are so many things I want to say to all of you! 1-I was so surprised by the birthday cake, cards, and the lovely gift for my birthday! I feel so blessed to be with a group of wonderful, caring people! Thank you! 2-Your outpouring of sympathy on the death of my Aunt Grace has been overwhelming! I chose not to attend her funeral. She wanted a small, graveside service, with few in attendance. If you knew my Aunt Grace, you would understand why. 3-Thank you all for the anniversary wishes! 32 years! 4-What a wonderful worship service this morning! (June 28) 5-Thank you Sue Sexton, for being crazy enough (borrowing someone else s words) to allow us to invade your place at the lake! Another wonderful time! From worship this morning, I heard several things that individuals would like to see Trinity UMC do, both for the physical structure, and also for the spiritual structure. 1-Improve the parking lot, and fix up the kitchen, so we can welcome the stranger, as well as help those who worship and serve at Trinity. 2-Install some technology to make worship more available for everyone! Not just contemporary, but also to be able to provide more gospeltype music, and assist those who are hearing or visionimpaired. 3-Find a way to fill the pews. Not just to fill seats, but to reach out. Trinity UMC, to paraphrase what Paul told the church at Corinth, you had started to do these things a year ago, and wanted to succeed! God is with you, leading you! We have another year together, what are we going to do? Be Blessed! Pastor Rosa

YOUNG AT HEART News Young At Heart will have their ANNUAL PICNIC on Wednesday, July 1st at the Civitan Shelter at Steele s Creek Park. A potluck lunch will be served at 12 noon. Drinks will be provided, but you may bring your own if you prefer. Night at the Ballpark and Fireworks! Come join us for an evening of fun as our Trinity family meets at Boyce Cox Field to watch the Bristol Pirates play Johnson City on Thursday, July 2nd. Trinity has rented the pavilion and sandwiches, chips, and drinks will be served. The fireworks show will follow after the game. Game time is 7:00 pm. Sweet Music! Our own Jane McKamey and the Sweet Adeline Chorus will be singing a gospel music program at the Bristol Pirates game on July 12th at 6:00 pm. Also, the chorus will benefit from the 50/50 raffle on July 2nd if anyone would like to contribute! Page 2 Trinity Times
