Presbyterian Church in America SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE NOVEMBER 16, 2014
SUNDAY ORDER OF WORSHIP Prelude I Surrender All/On Eagle s Wings Noel Venegas Welcome The Solid Rock My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus name. Chorus On Christ, the solid Rock; I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand. When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. When He shall come with trumpet sound, oh, may I then in Him be found; Dressed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne. Call to Worship To God Be the Glory To God be the glory great things He hath done! So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life an atonement for sin And opened the life-gate that all may go in. Chorus Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory great things He hath done! O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer, the promise of God. The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives. Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son. But purer, and higher and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
We Fall Down We fall down, we lay our crowns at the feet of Jesus; The greatness of mercy and love at the feet of Jesus. Chorus And we cry, Holy, holy, holy. And we cry, Holy, holy, holy. And we cry, Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb. Leaning on the Everlasting Arms Joy Ringers Offering Prayer Andy Steele Offertory Great I Am Choir Doxology Glorify Thy Name Jesus, we love You, we worship and adore You, Glorify Thy name in all the earth. Glorify Thy name, Glorify Thy name, Glorify Thy name in all the earth. Responsive Reading The Heidelberg Catechism 1 Q. What is your only comfort in life and in death? A. That I am not my own, but belong body and soul, in life and in death to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for my salvation. Because I belong to Him, Christ, by His Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for Him. Benediction Postlude Amazing Grace/My Chains are Gone Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost but now am found; was blind but now I see. T was grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed. My chains are gone, I ve been set free. My God my Savior has ransomed me, And like a flood His mercy reigns; unending love, amazing grace. The Lord has promised good to me; His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures. When we ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, We ve no less days to sing God s praise than when we first begun. My chains are gone, I ve been set free. My God my Savior has ransomed me, And like a flood His mercy reigns; unending love, amazing grace. The flowers adorning the worship center today are given by Raymond & Diana Smith and Tre Wylie in celebration of Maude Smith s birthday, and to the glory of God.
